I've tried many steak marinades and rubs over the years, and while there are a couple that I like to routinely use, I haven't found any that really interested me in a long while. Until now. I truly enjoy a good rib-eye steak, and this rub is almost perfectly paired to that cut of meat. Tasty and sweet, but not too sweet, and a gentle bite at the back end. Its primary ingredients are brown sugar, chile, garlic, and rosemary. The descriptive blurb says that the rub also works with chicken and roast potatoes, and that may be true for most, but to me this is a steak rub. I did try it on some hamburgers I was broiling, and it was "good" but not as good as on a steak. Anyway, my 3.5 oz sample size jar soon ran out, so I bought this 16 oz jar, which should keep me going for a year or two, as I don't eat steak every week, nor do I use this rub every time. Note that my wife likes it, but doesn't love it, although she did really like the chicken rub from the sampler on chicken breasts. I guess I'm saying to try the smaller size jar first before getting this huge one, as everybody's taste varies.
