Zinsser Mold Killing Primer, Quart

I didn’t even know this product existed until a customer told me about it back when I worked at Wally World. They were dealing with a major mold problem in their home, and every time they used Kilz, the mold came right back. After doing their research, they found this primer — the only one marketed as a true mold‑killing primer instead of just a mold‑resistant one. That stuck with me. Since then, I’ve used it myself several times, and it’s been consistently effective. Real‑world results: - Warehouse drywall: We had constant mold issues from dampness. We painted the affected areas with this primer — no topcoat, just two coats of the primer — and it stayed clean the entire time I worked there. (And honestly, the coworker who applied it didn’t even clean the walls first, which is not recommended, but it still worked.) - Flood‑prone basement: Even after cutting the drywall higher to avoid water contact, the leftover dampness kept causing mold. I used this primer on the walls, and the mold didn’t return while I lived there. - New house with vent moisture issues: One storage room had a massive mold patch on the wall. I cleaned it as well as I could — not perfectly — then painted it with this primer. Months later, the mold still hasn’t come back. Bottom line: If you’re dealing with mold and you’re not confident you can remove every last trace before painting, this primer is absolutely worth it. It saves time, reduces stress, and actually kills what’s there instead of just hoping it won’t return.

Best price I would find anywhere. So far, it seems to have stopped the mold we got in a small storage room that was too humid. This was done like a month ago and so far so good. Hopefully it will stay that way. Love the fact that it covers very well, but might need two coatings, like with most paint. The finish and color was good as well. Would definitely recommend it.

this stuff works great. sticks to metal very well. no sanding,grinding to good metal. used it on new purlin as a primer over slight rust.

We have a camper that is always getting mold some way or another in the cab. We use this and it stops it.

I had some water get trapped under a plastic storage bin under my sink where caused black mold. I got some mold killer and then mold stain remover both would kill the mold and finally followed up with this mold killing paint to make the area look like new and prevent future mold.The paint was amazing! Stirred up well, easy to apply… great coverage ( applied 2 coats), great adhesion and beautiful bright white color.

Opened can, product separated, not a big deal when they sit that happens . Used my paint mixer tool on my drill . I couldn't even get 1/2 way in and hit solid . I worked on it maybe 1/2 hour, you can see by the pictures I ender up with thick cottage cheese . Totally useless. Now I have to jump through hoops to get a refund AMAZON used to be a pleasure to deal with , something wrong they fixed it right away , now I have to deal with the manufacturer. RUN FAST

I'v used many paints some more expensive, this has far more benefits then the others, yes it is expensive too as the size of tin is not that big, other paints still get mould on top and you have to wipe it down, this one also repels mould , so stopping it building up and smelling the room,

I disliked that I could only purchase one quart. Would have preferred a 4 quart tin.

I ordered this product and it came opened. there was a leakage and it was a loss for me. I still used it and it seem to be okay. I will monitor for a few months and see if there is any recurrence to the mould problem. Product is good.
