Simple to use time saver
Extremely simple and easy to use. Huge time saver over other methods of stripping flat T&E. Perfect results every time so far. Plenty of videos on YouTube show these in operation (how I found them). The only "weakness" is mainly user related... if you don't strip quite enough insulation off the end of an individual core, you can't nip just a little bit more as it relies on the insulation below to grip and pull. This means moving further up, trimming more off than you need and snipping the conductor back or using a different type of stripper to get just a bit extra... of course, with more use the issue goes away as you get to know what it will clear. If I could give this an 11/10 I would.

genius design
makes me look good and like i know what im doing with 2.5 twin and earth... worth the outlay every day. If an electrician doesnt have these, then they havent used them... because when they do - its a game changer - best tool ive bought this year

Good but a bit over priced for what it does
Very good tool. Well made and strips 1.5 and 2.5 mm twin and earth cable with ease. As a DIYer it takes a bit of practice first to get it to strip the outer or inner insulation, so make you use some scrap cable first... you can also get replacement blades . Good tool but seems a bit expensive for what it is

Expensive and a bit flimsy
It does the job but is expensive for what it is and it's plastic construction is a bit flimsy and I can't see it being durable and lasting a long time

Works great for a few weeks , blade rusts and can't be changed
The beauty of these is the ability to pass through the handles T&E as far as you need to before the first cut, that allows you to get right to the back of a board which you can't do with the side on style. That's the headline but the reality after a couple of months they're rubbish, the blades go rusty and cannot be replaced, and the mechanism doesn't always grip properly often resulting in a partial cut. Sorry, not something I would buy again

If you have ever worked with UF wire then you will truly appreciate this tool. Stripping UF wire is a tedious chore at best, but with this tool and one squeeze, you are done and the outer protective layer is easily slid off. With another squeeze, you can strip the white and black wires. In both cases, the wire can be as long as you choose. Ideal makes excellent tools and this is no exception. I disagree with those who complain that the plastic handles are flimsy...I don’t see them ever breaking with intended use. It is not a cheap tool, andif you are planning on using it only once, then it is probably not worth the $73 price. But, it is such a handy tool that works efficiently and easily, that it surely justifies the price.

I've used this type of stripper many times over the years. Usually they're not the best unless they are specifically for the wire your stripping. There's usually a narrow range they work well on. That's not just for electrical wiring these types of strippers have been around for low voltage hookup wire for decades. This specific stripper is for UF cables, underground feeder wire jackets specifically. I don't care about using it for anything else. Every time I use it yes just a little nick in the wire insulation but not enough to matter. I far prefer using this over cutting the ground and ripping the jacket like a ripcord. Its a lot easier than that method and no screw ups.

I have to tell you, I winced when I paid for these, but they work like a charm. What used to take me 3 minutes and a lot of work with a utility knife now takes 5 seconds. The cut is clean and fast and I have not nicked an inner conductor or jacket yet. And I appreciate the fact that the design allows me to reach into an outlet box and strip a cable one-handed without putting strain on the cable. They will work on NM also but you need to be a little more careful - on some of the NM I have the outer jacket is thin so these cutters can nick the inner jacket a little (though I have not seen a nick that goes through to copper). I'd advise that you try them on some leftover pieces of whatever NM you are using before doing it for real.

Either i got a faulty one, or this just isn't good overall. It feels cheap, I thought it would be made of metal but it's plastic. It works well for Romex, but not for UF Definitely not worth the 70 dollars I spent

These work great. I bought them for stripping the sheathing off UF cable, however I found they will strip your conductor wires as well as romex sheathing. No adjustments to be made, just insert your wire and squeeze. Couldn't be easier. Expensive as it's a specialty tool, but saves a lot of time especially for a DIYer.
