Powell-Peralta Rib Bones Rails

These are just as I remember from the late 80s when I first took up skateboarding. And back then I had a brand new top of the line mini-board Vision "Mark" Gonzales which wasn't cheap. I vividly remember my older brother (who bought me my first skateboard for my birthday) had to purchase the trucks, wheels, bearings, the grip tape, the rib bones separately. I wish these rib bones could be mailed in a box instead of a bubble envelope. The rib bones arrived in excellent condition and I'm very happy with them, but they won't fit on my Powell Peralta mini-board (my mistake when ordering these as I didn't measure first). All in all though I believe they'll serve me quite well on a future skateboard deck since I don't plan to grind or do tricks. I just like them for the grip they provide. They might add a little extra weight to your deck, but eh, that's okay for me. I'm just a weekend warrior skateboarder on my days off anyway. I haven't tried out the Santa Cruz rails, so I can't compare and I'm not sure how sturdy these are to do tricks or grind with so again, I can't comment on their durability. Please be sure to measure your deck first to avoid wheel bite and "ordering disappointments" later on. 14.5" is approximately 14 and a half inches long. For the mini-boards, I'd say go with 13" long when ordering. Fast shipping, awesome seller. Hope my feedback helps!

Being a skater from the 80's was so glad to find these. Makes a world of a difference when grabbing your board. IMO it also helps when you slide/grind. Now only if Schmitt stix would re release their rails that had had an extra lip to dig your fingers into or even Variflex (yes that Variflex that was sold at big stores), those were the best rails I ever used.

Ok, they are what they are, plastic ribs. I gave it 2 stars because it was missing a screw, and the screws that came with it barely fit in the holes on the ribs. I had to bore the holes out with a drill bit to make them fit. I'm an older, read ancient skater who has mounted ribs on boards10+ times, but this was a pain in the ass... dudes, check next time count the screws.

The great quality you expect from Peralta. Easy to install- suggest lay out rails, Mark holes and pre-drill very shallow holes to start screws.

I think this is my 6th time to purchase these. Easy transition sliders. Looks cool. And reminds me of the old school. Long boards also benefit from these babies.

I love the look of these! They were really hard to install but overall great look. Now on to do they slide well I have not been able to test them yet but they seem like they would slide amazing. Just know you will have to apply tons of pressure to get them to bite the wood.

Easy to install and they work great to prevent further scratching on my board .

I bought these for my son. Back when i used to skate in the 80's rails were a given. Now theses things are rare. Why? they make a great handle, protect your base. Makes no sense. My son even said why aren't these on all boards? I can't even find skid plates, nose guards, truck guards. They need to start these things back up again. Its a no brainer, Revenue booster!

Improves everything about your board. Strength, structure, pop, slides, longevity. These also reduce friction on board slides and give you a grab rail to pull your airs up towards you, whilst saving your graphic. An absolute must if you want your board to last a little longer and take a harder beating, plus anyway, 'old school' style cruisers are absolutely rocketing in popularity and these are the genuine real deal.

Not the greatest finish, but it’s just what I wanted to finish off my board! Expected sex bolts so a little disappointed with small self tappers but they work a treat and even with the amount of slams I have had still going strong!!

They are Powell Peralta. Doesn’t get much better than this.

So I first thought after receiving the rails that the screws which comes with were too small. Update: screws do look small but once you start to screw in they fit perfectly. I guess it's a way to make sure everything is nice and tight.

I always thought rails were more of a fashion statement anyway. It looks good, the only thing that got me was that the screws kept falling of. I might have drilled them wrong though...
