Get a responsive ride and stabilizing cushioning with this versatile trainer from ASICS. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I'm actually surprised how much I liked these after purchasing
I'm actually surprised how much I liked these after purchasing. I did buy them off Amazon Warehouse and they were "used" for $30 but it's probably one of my favorite shoes to wear. I'm not very intelligent in the realm of running shoes, I used to wear basketball shoes to the gym and use them on the treadmill. I probably won't be doing that anymore. I also really enjoy how these kind of stick out when I'm walking in my sweatpants, makes me feel a bit more legit that a pair of Jordan's or something at the gym.Comfortable, but these things kind of suck when it comes to running around on cement. I do get knee pains from long runs on cement, but that's more of my fault that the shoes. I did run 3 miles without feeling too winded on the treadmill, one of my big things is how my calves, ankles, feet and knee hold up when I run long distances and doing sprinting intervals on the treadmill. I can honestly say I'm very glad I bought these, I had a thought of regret when I frist bought them like, these things are pretty hideous but hey, $30 whatever.Since I got a good deal, I guess I'm slightly biased cause I wouldn't buy them for $40-$50 but that's a personal thing. Great product!

As racing flats, these are still pretty comfortable
As I started racing more 5K and 10Ks, I decided to try some flatter shoes. Having liked the DS trainer line of shoes from Asics, I figure I'd take a shot with these to see if they helped my racing time & performance.Good:* Feels unbelievably lightweight and easy to run in* Comfortable in the toebox, and not too tight* You really can't get more support & cushioning from a pair of shoes this minimal/lgihtweight* I've set reasonably solid PRs in both 5K and 10K races with theseOk:* If you aren't a relatively lightweight experienced runner, you'll want much more support out of your shoes* Anything over 10K of training or racing of the track, and your knees won't be happy with you unless you are used to flatter shoes* I still reach for more heavy-duty models (DS trainers, nimbus/cumulus) for off-track speedwork and longer runsUgly:* Laces don't stay secured as easily as other models, as I've had single knots come undone mid-race (but still managed to PR at a 10K with a shoe-tying break)

A Decent Racer From Asics
Amazon has placed enough information regarding the overview of a product both in writing as well as photos to assist in decision making for comparison then to purchasing. This shoe from Asics fits as you would expect a lightweight racer to wear. I think the more information and various additional viewing angles on sports shoes are very important to finalize a sale for the serious minded conditioning, training, and competition performance style shoe of your individual needs. Furthermore, Too many products marketed by other corporative enterprises purposely mislead by incorrectly showing only what they want to gain a sale.

Light Running Shoe
Super Light Running Shoe for Size 14. This shoe fits great and I paired it with locklaces. I log 10 miles running and 8 to 10 miles on the eliptical each week so I typically wear through shoes every 4 or 5 months. The last pair of asics I purchased were great and I still use them but they developed a small hole on the nylon upper. I purchased these after a stint with adidas climacool that were a bit to heavy and also developed a hole in the nylon upper. These are the closest I can get to the adizero feather 2 and asics gel hyper speed 6 (3 ounces lighter). They have a better drop which provides an arch that I do not have naturally. This makes it more comfortable than the shoes I mentioned above. Overall I rate it high but I am fearful of the nylon upper durability. No matter the brand it seems as if durability is sacrificed for lighter weight material.

Not a sexy shoe, but perfect for race day
These were just what I was looking for, after going (quickly) through a pair of Saucony Kinvaras followed by Saucony Fastwitch. The Sauconys felt great to start, but after 100 miles or so began to break down. Maybe it's my janky feet, but the Fastwitchs gave me blisters for the first time in several years of running. I needed something lightweight with a touch of support, the Asics DS Racers are perfect so far.At first, I thought they were a touch too big with ample amount of toe room. But once you get out on the road, you'll appreciate it. Plenty of support underneath with a good feel of the road. Just ran my first half marathon in them, and gave no thought to the shoes which is exactly what I'd want.

Not durable!
The shoes are lightweight, fast, comfortable and give you a little bit of support and cushioning. BUT!!! The sole wears off way to fast. On the photo you can see my shoe I bought 2 month (and about 200 miles) ago. My Nimbus 17 last at least 3 times as long! Buy them every two months? No thank you! I'd rather try NB 1500v2.

Love Love ASICS
Love Love ASICS. Been running in ASICS shoes since high school, along time ago!So obviously i would turn to asics for when i needed lighter shoes for speed and tempp workouts. I have slightly flat feel and over pronate, these were light enough and enough support for my feet.I use them for cross training, speed and tempo runs and racing. So these dont get ATON of milage. I would not use them as daily running trainers. My shins would not be able to handle that, since its less supportive than my Kayanos

Would definitely buy again!
I have wont asics shoes for 20 years, this is the first shoe that I have bought that seems to run small. I even ordered 1/2 size up, like I always have but there wasn't as much room in the toe box as previous DS Racers. the shoe is ultra light which I love. I also love the colors. For the most part the shoe is great for running. I did notice there isn't much cushion in the metatarsal area after doing a impromptu step aerobics class, but I have never had any problems while running. I definitely recommend these shoes for shorter distances.
