It does not. The double glass shelving looks sleek, substantial, and firmly attaches to the wall. I am very pleased with the look and product.The Not so Good: My husband is pretty handy and this was not a simple project. There is an enclosed template for wall placement but it was unusable as it did not exactly match the hardware. The box says the finish is chrome but ours looks more satin than polished chrome so it does not match our bathroom hardware. The packaging was not good. The first order was broken before delivery. Amazon notified me and replaced immediately. (Thank you Amazon.) The second order arrived in good shape, but shockingly, only in one unsealed blue box that one would expect to find on a store shelf - no additional box or bubble wrap.I would purchase again as there are few alternatives in that size with those features. They are constantly leaning forward and if the rail was not there everything would fall off!
