When he refuses to sleep with a corrupt Cardinal, he’s forced to work in the same manor as the man who almost tempted him away from the cloth when they were younger. Alain was Christophe’s true love, but Christophe chose to join the priesthood rather than be with him. Alain bitterly remembers Christophe’s rejection. He accepts the Cardinal’s assignment: destroy Christophe’s career with a scandal. Will his cruel conviction hold once Alain learns how devastated Christophe was to have to deny his feelings for him? Review: Sexy guys, compelling story - I chose this rating because I got into the book when my friend bought it at the recent Akon convention we went to. I was never into full on Yaoi, but when I started to read it the characters intreiged me. The art is beautiful and the story is so compelling. It drew me in and I couldn't put it down. They actually reasearched the time period. I would recomend this to any Yaoi fan. Im so in love I bought them all. Review: Better than expected - Honestly, I don't think I've found much from Yaoi Press that I've liked. It always seems half done and centered on sex, which isn't presented tastefully. Although this book isn't on my top list of all time favorites, I was impressed by the storyline and somewhat the art, since it's much better than what I've seen in these books before. By no means is it on par with foreign manga (which I know is an unfair comparison) but the story was such that I got entranced. I would recommend this to a yaoi fan that wants to support American published manga, likes a large heap of drama in their storyline, and has so much manga they're thinking of buying a third bookcase for it. If you're just a dabbler, there is much more out there for you. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #5,554,023 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #148,523 in Graphic Novels (Books) #2,206,930 in Literature & Fiction (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 27 Reviews | ## Images ![The Lily And The Rose (Yaoi) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81pHn5JaUpL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sexy guys, compelling story *by A***C on June 8, 2013* I chose this rating because I got into the book when my friend bought it at the recent Akon convention we went to.
