The Physics Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained

This is a great book for people who want to understand physics and learn about the physicists who invented and/or worked on. This book is not going to teach you how to become a physicist. The is no math in this book. But, it is a great book for the general public who want to learn about the subject. The book is written in sections by subjects. Then explains the individuals that were attached to the subject and explains what the subject is about. If you are looking to learn how to be a physicist, you need to look elsewhere for a physics book that also has math. This book is not a stepping stone towards learning how to do physics. This is a book that's a fun read, yet informative.

I ordered this book for my son's birthday. He was thrilled with it and started reading it immediately. He loves learning about science and is always watching science documentaries and reading interesting books about science. The pages are arranged with illustrations and text that describes the topic in typical DK-style. This book is a great choice for teens who are interested in science.

This book provides a great review of the principles, concepts and history of physics from the ancient Greeks all the way to string theory and gravitational waves. The concepts are succinctly put forward. This is an excellent review for anyone interested in the sciences without getting too technical.

I had heard that this was a good book for learning physics. While it is entertaining, and I have enjoyed reading it, there are no physics problems or solutions. It is more of a history book about who came up with what idea and the significance of those ideas. It give a small biography of the people that came up with the ideas, usually a couple of pages per idea. It is educational, and a good read, but if you are looking for a book to teach you how to solve physics problems this is not the book.

I'm giving this as a gift to my son for Christmas but I've looked at it and wow I am blown away by the quality of the book, the layouts of the pages, and the absolute amount of information that they have been able to put into it! I'm sure this will be a winner and I'm so happy I was able to find it!

My son is constantly asking me questions about physics. He has a very curious mind and absolutely loved getting this book as a gift. Highly recommend for fellow kiddos who love science, are interested in physics, and are curious.

Great for beginners!

I found the book enlightening about physics that I had some knowledge of, leading to a better understanding of physics, key physicists, and their theories from the big bang to the present. Fascinating.

Super book, I rarely rate 5/5!. If you want to have a new fresh intro to the world of physics and applied physics then this is on of the best.
