These are the best knee braces!
These Cho-Pat knee straps kept my knees stable and pain free for years when I would hike down mountains. When I was at the point where I needed total knee replacement surgeries, the straps helped diminish the pain until my surgery dates. I've tried many different knee braces and none compare to this design.

This knee brace is awesome!
I am training for a marathon and have knee problems from some past leg injuries. I ordered this cho-pat knee brace along with some other knee straps and braces when I realized that my knees were not holding up to my training. I set out for a 13 mile run using the simple single knee straps that I had ordered in addition to this brace. I ran for 3.5 miles and one of my knees began to hurt but I tried to run through it. It got worse so I took the single knee strap off my other knee and positioned it above my knee cap to simulate the design of this dual action cho-pat brace and headed back to my house. I was surprised to find that my pained had reduced and I was able to run all the way back to my house, now at mile 8. I quickly exchanged the two knee straps for the cho-pat brace. My pain was even more greatly reduced by just putting the cho-pat brace on!!! I set back out and ran the rest of the 13 miles with only the reduced amount of pain. I have used this brace every run from that point on and now I have zero pain while I run in my most problematic knee. I ordered a second cho-pat for my other knee early on as well. My wife is also training for the marathon and I told her to try my "extra" knee brace. Now we own 4 between the two of us. I highly recommend this brace. However, this brace is designed for running and other sport activities. It is comfortable to wear as long as you are not sitting down because it has elastic webbing located behind the knee that "bunches up" if you try to wear it sitting down. I am amazed how well the brace stays in place during running. I never have to readjust it, even in my long runs.

Good intermediate support for knee
Bought this as a 2ndry support brace for my knee. I needed something less rigid as my knee heals. Somehow injured it & am dealing with mild arthritis in addition. I find if I need a little more support I put on an ace bandage first then this over it.. seems to work well. The Velcro does seem to catch in certain clothing & other items. Best worn with shorts as a result. Seems solidly constructed overall.

This Dual Action Knee Strap Makes Exercise Possible for Me!
I have been using this Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee strap for about 9 years or so. I just now replaced the one I first purchased 9 years ago because one, I lost weight; and two, the velcro finally wore down and no longer provided the compression I needed! In 2003, I had a hiking accident in the mountains - I lost my footing on a trail (after a heavy rain!) and my left knee came down on a flat rock. Needless to say, my knee swelled up like a softball and I couldn't walk for 3 months. Unfortunately, I would have some subsequent accidents (blunt force trauma) to that same knee, which led to the development of chondromalacia. Generally stated, this is the breakdown of cartilage, and I will just say it is very painful. After so much trauma, the cartilage in my left knee was in pieces, and basically ended up being close to being bone on bone. Any type of prolonged walking or exercise was too painful - but not with this dual action strap by Cho-Pat!! You couldn't keep me off the racquetball court, but my knee pain managed to do that. I just refused to give in. I found this product and use it when I practice kickboxing, play racquetball, go for extended walks or a run - I literally cannot exercise without it. If I do, I will have uncontrolled knee pain for days. There is something about the compression and alignment it provides that reduces the pain, and actually prevents further knee pain and inflammation. As I said, this product was a godsend for me, and when it came time to replace it, I kind of scoffed at the price. The thing is that I could "risk" it and order something else and end up with an inferior product and inferior durability. I KNOW firsthand what this product does, how it works, that it works for me and how long it can last. There was NO point in ordering from a different company, so I ordered in a medium (my previous one was an extra-large). It fits perfectly, and provides excellent compression and alignment for my left knee. I wish I had ordered a replacement sooner because my other one slipped a lot (the top part of the band) and the velco was worn out. I just didn't realize how important it was to have it work properly again. The new one doesn't slip at all, which probably means I always wore a size smaller than I was using. Now, I have lost 95lbs, and while the weight loss definitely helps with the pain, it is still there and always will be. However, the Cho-Pat knee strap makes exercise possible for me, and not just any exercise - kickboxing, weight lifting and racquetball!!
