12 Foam Filter Pad Inserts for Hagen Fluval 404/405 / 406 (A-226)

Came back to change my rating and update my review now that I've used up my 1st pack of 12 and really got to see how well these pads are! I'm so excited to say these pads are exquisite and they keep my turtle tank pristine! I'm so happy with the product I came back and bought another pack of 12! I mean you get a pack of 12 for a devilish steal, which is perfect for complete water changes every 3mons because bloody hell can they trap turtle gunk! This as previously mentioned was a great buy and you do get your money's worth!!*previous review* So its true you get what you pay for, but these are perfect!! I'm glad I bought these as they are a perfect fit for my Fluval 406 and buying in bulk is the beat way for me to ensure that my turtle always has a super clean environment!! I say give it a try and buy!! If you don't like them, well then to each is own my friends!

These cost roughly $1 each, the Fluval about $2.50 each.Have been using these a year with no problems. They are the same size as Fluval and fit perfectly in the canister. Very porous foam like fluval. These work just as well as the brand name and cost less than half the price. Good every day foam. They work to catch large debri before it enters the inner baskets in the canister. Easy to rinse out and reuse. I cut them up and use them in HOB filters also.One thing to note is that the Fluval ones are individually wrapped in plastic and in a box, but these generic pads are not individually wrapped. That is something to be aware of.This foam works well and I do recommend it for the price and convience. It is nice to have 12 on hand. As an extra precaution, I soak all products in a bucket of salt water (using aquarium salt) before use and then rinse well to clean and disinfect. I recommend giving these a good rinse before use since they do not come individually wrapped.

These are great replacement filters. High quality at a great price.

Works just like the more expensive Fluval media. Can be re used, if you clean them properly using tank water and allow them to air dry. Will purchase again. Great value!

This filter fits well and gets the job done.

I won't mention any names but... We started with one small tank, over the years wound up with 5 tanks. Frogs breeding Plecos, our 2 lovely tropical tanks, and of course the fancy misc. tank of fish we just had to have. These filters are absolutely equal to the name brand. You can snip them to fit the smaller canisters, and you can put more than one fragment together to fill a case, so there is very little waste! I used two packages already and have probably saved well over $200 just for the 24 pieces. I just wish we had found them sooner... we used the name brand in different specific sizes for 3 years. UGH!!! THANK YOU for this product!!

How can such a good deal exist?! They came fast, fit my Fluval 406 just like the ones that came with it did, and have been filtering great for about 3 months now. I see no problems with them, as they are cleaning my painted turtles tank like a dream. The value is unreal, and you are not compromising at all on quality. Will be buying more of these in the future for sure!

Works great on my Fluvial 305. Great alternative to the Fluvial stuff and very affordable.
