Avoid this product.
Purchased two months ago, now it does not work. The files on it become corrupted after recording and cannot be accessed. I have tried reformatting the drive but this does not solve the problem.

I am using this to record people and things which need to be recorded for my protection. Just imagine what you could need it for, and then you know it has uses. Very handy when you need to remember something you later rely on in, a book your writing. Cool item and good for your security.

The product came apart and I have glued it back together and now it kind of works. Firstly, voice activated recording is not reliable. It is erratic and always a few seconds at best. I altered the adjustments in the text file, but it makes no real difference. I have switched off voice activated recording and just use it as a straight recording device and it works OK in this capacity. The recorded files are small so 8gb is enoufor my purposes. There are much better product there at 4 times the price, but if you want a cheap, basic, recording device and are OK with the limitations then this might be a good choice.
