Yes, 24 frets. In addition, this guitar plays as well as some of the higher end guitars I've owned, and it sounds fantastic. For the price, you won't find a better guitar in my opinion. And the push-pull coil split is a great feature.

Is the headstock heavy or is it well balanced?

I find it pretty well balanced. That is to say that I never thought of it because it hasn’t been an issue. I bought a second!
