3M Genuine 1/2" (12mm) x 15 Ft VHB Double Sided Foam Adhesive Tape 5952 Grey Automotive Mounting Very High Bond Strong Industrial Grade (1/2" (w) x 15 ft)

I’ve used a lot of adhesive tapes over the years, but this 3M Genuine 1/2" x 15 ft VHB Double-Sided Foam Tape 5952 really lives up to the hype. This isn’t your cheap, “sticks for five minutes” stuff. It’s a legit automotive-grade VHB (Very High Bond) tape — the kind that’ll hold trim, moldings, emblems, hooks, panels, you name it, and keep it there. Once this tape grabs, it’s not letting go. The foam core compensates for small gaps and irregular surfaces but still forms a rock-solid bond. Installation is as straightforward as adhesive gets — clean the surface well, line it up, press it on, and let it set. No primers, no heat guns (though heat does speed up the bond if you want to hustle). It’s grey, so it blends in better than bright white stuff if it’s visible on edges. I’ve used it inside and outside the vehicle, and it’s held through heat, cold, rain, and car washes without peeling or shifting. If you’re doing automotive trim work, DIY projects, or just need a permanent, heavy-duty bond that won’t quit, this is exactly the tape you reach for. Heavy-duty where it counts. No nonsense. I purchased this to put onthe bottom of a Console Safe to make it more impossible to remove from the vehicle. This tape is amazing! Once you place it on a serface for a while, it is a BEAR to get off, if you even can! I would definately recommend this adhesive tape.

This double-sided tape is amazing! Strong hold, easy to cut, and sticks to almost any surface. Perfect for home projects, crafts, or quick fixes. Highly recommend!

Stickier than other tapes I've tried. Worked well for keeping a bicycle helmet mirror in place.

Sun visor that I installed started coming loose. Reached out to seller and they provided more of the same lousy tape. Enter Modern Marvels on the History Channel and their episode on Adhesives. This product was featured as the best 3M makes and it is used by Boeing. This stuff is incredible! I no longer have to hold onto my visor to keep it from flying off on the highway. Make sure you are location positive before sticking anything down because it's a wrestling match to get it back off.

They did not have the 3/4 or 1" width that I needed at the time, so I cut three strips and lined them on the back of the item I needed to mount. A few days later I noticed that the top strip was no longer touching the "wall" and I pushed it back down and held it a while. I realized then that when we mounted our item, it was rather cold outside (where is is located) so we heated it up slightly, then put it back on the wall and held it for about 45 seconds. This made it hold much better. If I would have had a larger width roll, I am sure one time would have held the entire item on the wall, but so be it. The price was right and I rarely ever need double sided mounting tape, so I will get creative and try to use more tape. The thickness and the foam add a vibration cushion too. I only buy 3M genuine anything, so I was pleased with the quality of the roll I got. Appears to be the real thing.

Can’t go wrong with 3M double sided tape. Tough stuff.

Does the trick--does stick!

As received, looks like it was shelved for a long time and endured higher temperatures during storage because I struggled a lot to peel off the protective film when trying to stick.

It's the real deal. Fantastic hold strength.

Es una muy buena cinta doble cara. Primero se saca y usa como una cinta normal, después se le quita el recubrimiento rojo para que se vuelva doble cara, y no es tan fácil de quitar como para que se salga solo; yo lo hice con unas pinzas finas. Pegué una pantallita al interior del parabrisas de una camioneta. Primero puse tres tiras de unos 5 cm (para que pudiera tomar toda la base de la pantallita) en el parabrisas y lo dejé por al rededor de 72 horas (sin la pantallita), después de eso y asegurarme que esté bien adherida la cinta quité el recubrimiento rojo y coloqué la pantallita, e igual, por seguridad, puse algo que hiciera presión a la pantallita contra el parabrisas para que la cinta no hiciera tanto esfuerzo en lo que cura (ya que por la gravedad quizás se pudiera despegar, y haciendo eso no pasó). La dejé ahí durante otras 72 horas para garantizar que pegara bien. Y ya personalmente, como ya había intentado con otras cintas y no pegaban bien, puse más cinta sobre la base de la pantallita y el parabrisas para reforzar aún más. Hasta ahora he visto que sí ha pegado, no he tenido ninguna queja. La pantallita ya tiene ahí cerca de un mes, incluso le ha pegado el sol al parabrisas todo el día y no se ha despegado. Eso sí, al inicio sobre todo si se jala desde una esquinita puede llegar a despegarse, o eso parece; porque se le jala de un área muy pequeña (por eso el dicho: "divide y vencerás"). Usé ya varias tiritas, como una vuelta en total, y ahora tiene 14 vueltas (su diámetro total ya habiéndola usado es de cerca de 12 cm), por lo que nueva viene como con 15 vueltas de cinta. La cinta mide como 1.3 cm de ancho.
