Welch Allyn 01690-300 SureTemp Plus 690 Electronic Thermometer, Wall Mount, 9' Cord and Oral Probe with Probe Well

After buying several low cost thermometers and NONE of them providing accurate temperature measurements, I decided to go ahead and pay the extra money for a medical-grade thermometer. Expensive? Yes, but when you consider that you could buy several lower cost thermometers that won't provide clinical grade (read reliable) temperature readings a thermometer that provides clinical grade accuracy is worth the extra cost. The medical community really doesn't want you to have any devices that may save you a costly visit to the "doctor". Perhaps that is why there are so few "medical grade" thermometers on the market and their price is so high.

My son has leukemia and a fever means a trip to the hospital and an admission so accuracy is so important. This is so easy to use and gives us the confidence to know we are making the right choice based on accurate information.

Appreciate a reliable thermometer. The inexpensive styles are too unpredictable. Wish there was a mid line model/brand that wasn't as expensive as the hospital grade .

I item was not brand new and did not come in the box and without instructions. This was a USED/OLD item. I'm very disappointed, to get something used and out of the box just thrown in a box with bubble wrap. Very disappointed!

Accurately measures your body temperature. This is medical grade. The ear thermometers are not as accurate. Please remember which probe is used for rectal temp and which one is the oral one

These thermometers are by far the worst I've ever used. It takes forever to get any reading at all with most of the attempts taking so long the unit goes into "monitor mode" which gives us less than helpful. I would rather use a cheap drug store thermometer that's mostly accurate but works reliable than use this and wonder if it'll work or not. Given the reputation that Welch Allyn has with equipment this is an embarrassment for the company as a whole.
