Unbeatable Price for Projector for Movies in the Dark
I did a lot of research on projectors, and I ended up determining that unless I wanted to spend $600, it wasn't worth getting anything more expensive than this projector. So I settled for the bargain! It's a pretty unbeatable price for a projector. It's nice it has an HDMI cable as well as many other ports. I do have to have my room very dark to get good picture from it. And you should certainly not be using this projector for written presentations, or anything like that. It's great for watching movies and tv shows. It's not loud in my opinion, but it certainly does make some noise. The screen can get too dark, such as when someone on screen is in a tunnel or something like that, and it is not good, but still watchable. For the price compared to other projectors, I'm not going to give it any less stars for that! I think, overall, the colors come out very well on this projector, but it can be too dark at times.Mine did also come with a BROKEN REMOTE, but as it came from China, I didn't want to wait another month or two to maybe get one that didn't work either. So, it sucks the remote doesn't work, but I could probably set up my phone to work as a remote anyway-though, I haven't tried!I'm really happy with my purchase as I knew I wasn't getting anything near the best projector on the market, but the price is very hard to beat. I'd highly recommend this projector for anyone on a budget that just wants it for watching movies/shows and has a dark room to watch it in.

Great machine for a DARK room only and speaker could be louder. This works great and easy to use, but not for any room with light.

Good value for the price
So far so good. I've tested it with a Wii connected via the AV cables provided (Composite In), a Chromecast (using HDMI and USB in), and my laptop (using VGA). It's impossible to read anything with text really. You can only get the manual focus to work on one part of the screen so if you focus on something in the center, the bottom will be blurry and vice versa. So it is not good for business or anything that requires much reading. I didn't test with movies with subtitles, but I suspect that's not going to be that good either.I tested with the Wii first, and its default settings definitely aren't very good for colors and brightness. But you can adjust that so it's manageable. But it's not very good whenever text comes up on the screen. Plus it's only Composite in (Red, Yellow, White) so it's not comparable to the Component (5 plugs) connection to a TV. But it works.I tested with the laptop next. For some reason I couldn't get the HDMI connection to show both on my laptop AND the projector, but it's obvious the text is not legible at all. I then connected VGA, and the resolution was a bit off. I was able to stream Netflix from the laptop and it looked pretty good actually. Again, brightness and contrast needed to be tweaked. The color is on the cool side so missing a bit of yellow and red, but it's acceptable.Last I tested with Chromecast. Since that's HDMI in, I had more control over the color adjustments and it looked a lot better than the VGA / RGB connection.Sound is not bad coming from the projector actually. Definitely not stereo but way better than the old built in computer tower speakers. It isn't very bright, but if you turn the lights out it definitely works. I have it in my basement with no windows so it's perfect. All in all, a great little projector for the price.

Disappointing. Don't waste your time.
What was I thinking? I guess it is true that you get what you pay for. I have this cheap Chinese projector plugged into the HDMI port of my Windows 8 laptop right now, and the output is of very inferior quality. Blurry screen, impossible to read text. After about five minutes, the projected image starts flashing and visible lines appear across the display. The one reviewer who gave this product one star was accurate in his description. It does smell like a burnt out cheap plastic toy. Very disappointing. Needless to say I will be returning this for a refund. I'll have to try renting a projector for a presentation I'm giving next weekend.

Decent quality for the price point, but not all functions work.
Bought this for a low grade slide show of old scanned photos. The picture is dim and pixelated, but not bad, especially considering the price. The instructions are barely there. There was no way to contact customer service. Works well with HDMI and ISB connections but cannot read my SD cards (claims it is looking for a USB 2.0 device, after selecting "SD"). I will probably return this until and spend the money on a better unit.

I use this for an office setting. It works very well. I really like the fact that I can use it in certain situations without a computer or other peripheral. For instance, I can take my presentation and make them into JPG pictures and then put them on a USB stick and simply scroll that way. Fewer items to lug around. Fewer items to drop and break and have to replace. It's a win/win! I will say that I don't think this would be the ideal setting for high-def sports/game viewing. However, it would do great in a kids' room or play room as well.I will also be using it for wall murals in our nursery. Basically, get an image that you want. Project it onto the wall - moving it closer/further as needed to shrink/enlarge. Trace it and then paint! Really cool stuff.
