Great Product!
A couple of weeks ago I had a painter to estimate the entire outside of my home, he said 3400$ and the paint goes on me, I said no way Jose, for that kind of money I better do it myself. So I've got this great scaffold, the first I use I need to say, but it worked for me just fine. It's easy to set up, although a little bit cumbersome to do it alone. There are no instructions on how to put the guard rails, but I called the manufacturer and that was all, I spoke with the same guy who called me right before shipping. Great service. It shakes and squeaks a little, but with the wheels locked it improves considerably, a non-issue really. Great design, when I'm done with it I can easily store it in my garage, and I like that. Cons? None so far. Word of caution. Out riggers holes and main frames have different diameter, so take that into account if buying leveling jacks, I bought Model# M-MBSJP24H and they don't fit, so I'll have to figure something out when going out side.

Impressed for the money
Very nice, built better than I figured it would be. Yes it is a little shaky but it has to be to assemble, joints can't fit tight. I feel perfectly safe on top with guard rails in place. When not used as scaffold the two section will make work tables for small wood projects. Was able to completely assemble by my self, would be easier with two but one can handle the job. I am 67 years old and do everything that needs done, own a lot of tools and very glad to add this to collection.

Not bad for the money
First, let me say this; I'm almost 70 years old and I can assemble this product without help, or instructions. That being said, I did work construction for a few years, so I'm pretty familiar with scaffolds. The product shipped very fast and arrived on a pallet with minor damage to the packaging and the scaffold. The damage did not affect the integrity or safety of the product. I bought this because I needed to do some work on my second floor windows and it would have cost me just about the same amount to rent the scaffolding from a rental place. This isn't the first tool I've had to buy due to high rental costs. When I worked in the trades, tool and equipment rentals were never so high, but I guess they'll charge whatever the market can bear. I did not give this five stars, but only because, I feel, there are a few areas where it can and should be improved. 1st, the first level is very stable at 60 inches -- anything above that and the unit will rack from side to side, as much as 8 inches. Some cross bracing will be necessary if you want to work higher than 60 inches. I used rope, but I'm considering cable and turnbuckles instead. The rope stretches too much, steel cable won't. If the kit came with the cable and turnbuckles and a mounting kit for them, I would have given it five stars easily for sturdy and stable. With just the rope, a lot of the side to side rack is greatly reduced, it now sways about 4 inches from side to side. 2nd: the kit I bought included a safety cage, and four outriggers, which are nice additions (especially the outrigger). However, the safety cage is fairly loose because the round legs fit into square holes and are secured with an L shaped pin. This wouldn't be that bad of a problem if you used the wrap around cage, but I need forward access to the windows -- I don't want railing blocking me. Still, I don't have eyes in the back of my head, so I like the railing behind me. I pinned it in place and leans either front or back. Later on I'll figure our a way to weld some square insert so that is more ridged and upright, bur right now this will have to do. Also, it would have been nice to have the option of wheels or leveling feet. I've got some windows on the other side of the house that have some unlevel ground below them. I ordered, what I thought was, a leveling kit as suggested by Amazon, it turns out it was just one leveling foot. Who the H uses one leveling foot? But that's on Amazon not on Metaltech. All in all for the features and price this was a great buy. I'm recommending it for anyone wanting to avoid the high cost of rental. It's easy to assemble, easy to break down and store and with a few modifications it can be within acceptable tolerances of racking side to side. I'll find a use for the single leveling foot. Someone used it as a press, I might do that.

Too Rickety for Me!
First I want to say that I love products from Northern Tool. This item had a universal 5 star rating, and looked to be an affordable alternative to clean unreachable windows in our home, that we usually pay 250.00 to have cleaned. It would pay for itself after two uses. It arrived via 18 wheeler on a pallet. I unpacked and partially assembled it in about 2 hours. Many of the reviews noted that it was a "little rickety," but no one thought this was an issue. However, standing on just the first level, it was so rickety, that I was too afraid to continue the assembly to the second level, reasoning that the second level would be twice as shaky as the first level. I am not an engineer, but it would seem that the simple addition of an opposing, hand tightened diagonal support on either side would greatly improve the shakiness. I re-packaged it (about 90 minutes). Northern Tool made the return as effortless as possible, allowing me to return it to a local Northern Tool store for complete refund.

This Does Not Come With Trap Doors On Platforms
Just so everyone is aware, this version I-TCISC **DOES NOT** come with trap doors on either of the plywood platforms. I did not buy this for this reason but am leaving a review so everyone knows because I sorted through reviews and it was very hard to figure this out. I called Metaltech and spoke to their customer service team (they are based in Canada if you look them up). They do NOT sell the version with trap doors on Amazon. The Metaltech version with the trap doors on both platforms is sold at Home Depot and it’s Model: I-TCISCH1. In my opinion they need to be way, way clearer here that this does NOT come with trap doors-which are really important for safety especially for novice scaffolding users and for something that's virtually impossible to return. You can buy the trap door separate from them on Amazon, but it's $160 EACH and it's called "Metaltech Scaffolding Platform with Trap Door - 67in.W x 29in.D, Model Number I-CISPT." I really hope this helps someone!
