I read that this brand contains ground shells. True?

I’ve bought this brand’s regular crab meat (not lump) and there were obviously ground up shells in every can, mixed in with the meat. Can’t say about their lump style.

where is the crab from?

No telling its origin its a bit light ill get the lump from now on

Is it bought frozen or off the shelf?

I ordered it online and was informed that I pick it up at Whole Foods which is a few blocks away from my condo. The tins did not appear to have been frozen and I had not seen them on the shelf. I was initially cautious because my past experiences with tin crab has not always been positive but to my surprise and pleasure the meat was pure white and sweet.

How to.make canned crab cakes

I season my crab meat with my favorite Louisiana seasoning and some slap your momma seasoning I bake toast harder than usual , but not burnt, crumble up my toast and for moisture and to hold together Dukes mayonnaise. Of course you can use your favourite brand, but I switched to Dukes about two years ago for the thickness and the taste.
