CompTIA Network+ Certification Study Guide, 5th Edition (Exam N10-005) (CompTIA Authorized) 5th Edition

Trying to cover a subject that is very broad and requires experience. It does cover all of the domains of the test but at times the book seems to jump from one subject to another. I don't know if there was a better way to organize the information in here but in the book somewhere you will find what you are looking for. I liked the exercises and chapter tests. this way you know along the way if you are getting the subject presented. Use to review and good luck on your certification test.

Good book, still reading it. It has the included video portions, however these don't play from my Kindle app on my tablet, which requires me to type a long URL into a web browser to see the video content provided with the book. I'd say it is pretty comprehensive thus far, so I would recommend it. The cost was under $30, which was pretty reasonable.

I studied this book cover-to-cover and made flash cards to ensure I thoroughly knew the info presented in it. Then I paid the fee and took the test and found there were a lot of questions that just hadn’t been covered in the book. The book gives a good base knowledge of networking, but it’s NOT enough on its own to pass the test! Be warned.

I purchased this book as an enhancement to the Network+ course I'm taking and I'm satisfied with the hardcopy version. After receiving the book, I attempted to download the Adobe Digital Edition but received an error stating that either the provided code had been used or it is not in the database. I've contacted McGraw-Hill customer service so we'll see how this plays out.

I like the book so far, but I've been trying to download the digital content for over a week now. When I enter the code to download the digital content I get an error that the code doesn't exist. I finally got in touch with support and they just sent me a link to the exact site I was already trying to download from along with an email (below) stating basically that I was SOL.The downloadable versions of the cd-roms that come with our books are accessible by going to [...]. This website is a brand new site and is a work in progress. Currently, there are resources for only a few titles available and titles are being added on a weekly basis. If the CD for your book is not available, please continue to check the site on a weekly basis for the resources for your title to be availableI chose this book because I wanted access to videos, etc and now I don't have it.

This book really covers the subject nicely and is full of "details" while being an easy read. I used their A+ book to get my A+ certification with great success and I rate these "CompTIA" at the top of the list for quality [and they aren't expensive].

To be fair, I am just starting the course and it does seem to be a very good study guide - at least so far, and the book is well worth the price per pound. BUT...In the description of the item, it claims that it comes with a free download of the book. And I quote:"Downloadable PDF copy of the book for studying on the go"I thought, great! I can leave the giant book at home and study at work, the doctor's office, the coffee shop, or anywhere else I have some downtime. All I have to do is load it onto my iPad and phone and I am good to go! But NOOOOOOO. It is absolutely NOT a pdf download. You need Adobe Digital Editions in order to view this book, which is 100% NOT compatible with mobile devices - at least not iPads, iPhones or Droids. If it were a true pdf, I could read it where ever I was, and the description TELLS YOU this is the case. Liars.Just exactly how on-the-go is it if I have to lug my computer along everywhere? I should have purchased the Kindle version. At least that would give me TRUE on-the-go capability. I thought about it and decided I didn't need it because I would have the PDF. Silly me.
