An easy to understand study guide
I have read a few of these twelve week study guides and this one is rich with knowledge and asks questions in an easy to understand manner. The gospel glimpses are very helpful. This is a great study guide for both new believers and old. Each book has a different author and some can be wordy and convoluted in the questions but this one is not.

Great study guide series. Recommended for a Bible study group and individual study.
Good Bible study guide. I have used this publishers study guides for several Bible book studies. Having the ESV study Bible is a big plus as the study guides refer to it often. I have learned a lot.

Deep Questions
This Genesis study was great for our small group Bible study. It asks questions that help you analyze scripture instead of just glossing over it. At the end of each section there are whole Bible connections, Gospel glimpses, and theological soundings that do a great job at wrapping up the ideas from the text/questions. Without a decent knowledge of scripture this could be a challenging book as this series often asks you to compare scripture from other sections of the Bible with some prior knowledge expected. This is the best Bible study I have found to date for content. It does not skip over any sections of scripture which is great, but there are no clear divisions to work on so you need to pace yourself well throughout the week. There is about 2 hours of material to go through for each week between reading the chapters from the Bible and answering the questions.

Great for small group studies
This is a great study guide for the book of Genesis. It's well organized, and though the wording on a few of the questions are a bit cumbersome, the questions are generally very good and effective for starting conversations if you were going through this in a small group. My favorite thing is that the study guide keeps the reader on track with the text of the bible. Often study guides get very heavy into application before carefully examining the text of the scripture; this book avoids that pitfall.

Strong Bible Study
My husband and I started doing weekly Bible studies and this study was phenomenal! We really enjoyed the thought-provoking questions and the theological commentaries on the text. I personally loved the Gospel Glimpses and how it connects back to Jesus. I highly recommend this if youโre looking for more depth than the average study.

Excellent Study Guide for Groups
I bought this for a Bible study a friend of mine have been conducting where we have been going through all scripture one book at a time. This was the first of this particular series that we used and we both found it to be quite informative and enlightening. I love how it provides the Gospel Glimpses and Whole Bible Connections at the end of each session. It made us look at the Book of Genesis in a whole new light, and I could really understand God's word via this guide. I just bought the Exodus guide and look forward to continuing in this series.

If you like knowing about the meta-story of the bible - meaning the over arching narrative rather than the detailed analysis of every action, every behaviour, then this book is for you. It also has a pretty postmodern critical theory type of approach. If those words creep you out then you're really missing out. The traditional casting of Abraham's family as icons of faith, who can do no wrong is analyzed from a more humanistic perspective, revealing that they were very flawed men and women, and thus they are revealed not to be the center of this narrative. God is put back rightly as the center of this story. It is not their giganic faith that we need to learn, but God's grace in the face of constant betrayal by the Patriachs that is startling and thought provoking. The bible is thus revealed to be about God, not about man. If any of what I said offends you, then this book series is not for you. Not to worry there are many more traditional bible study books for you.

Great Book. We use this in our home group

Ghastly questions because they donโt encourage prayerful, thoughtful questioning; instead they just push a very singular, exclusive theology. I should have stuck with either the Bible Speaks Today series commentary on Genesis or John Goldingay or another
