Dream Urban Cover

I really love it! I apply it with the Clarisonic device. It adheres smoothly and lasts all day.

This foundation looks and feels great! It's super lightweight and feels good to the skin. It's not a matte finish, but it gives a nice, healthy glow. I got many compliments on my skin when I wore it for the first time! I got a 12-13 hour wear out of this, and I didn't use an actual primer or a "real" setting spray. The color looks a little off from the lighting in my bathroom but it's an excellent match for my summer shade. I wish the foundation was a little more matte, but I have plenty of products to achieve that. This is an excellent foundation for the summer, especially at the $11 price point! My biggest concern is that I'll run out of product quickly, as it comes in a squeeze tube format, and it feels like there's less product than the actual container says. I plan to use this all summer, so we'll see how many tubes I get through lmao. Shade Reference: I got the foundation in Cafe Au Lait. Here are the foundations I wear normally. Really happy with this foundation. Bought it thinking it would be good for every day wear and it's great for that. I apply it with a damp sponge and find it to blend out very quickly and easily and have a good medium coverage that dries to a demi-matte/satin finish that looks quite natural on the skin and feels weightless. The shade range is far too limited in my opinion, especially for a product that claims to be full coverage. Some people with sensitive skin may find it irritating due to chemical sunscreens and alcohol in the formula. Pros: -Looks like skin, very natural -Easy to apply and blend -Can vary the amount of coverage depending on the application method. Can go from sheer to medium (would not call this full coverage). -Feels very lightweight on the skin--no heavy "foundation" feeling -Doesn't sink into fine lines/wrinkles or pores -Broad spectrum SPF 50. I would never rely on a foundation exclusively for sun protection (you won't use enough or apply it evenly enough to get the protection advertised on the label), but it's a nice extra to give you a bit more protection over your regular sunscreen. -Wears pretty well on oily skin, though I do set it with powder and need to touch it up about half way through the day. That's standard procedure for me with all foundations, and this touches up well and easily. Even when I do get a little oily, the foundation doesn't separate or cake up anywhere. Cons: -Shade range is poor. Even in the lighter shades, there isn't enough variety of undertones for everyone to find the correct match, and don't even get me started on the deeper end of the spectrum which is nearly nonexistent. Maybelline can do better. I couldn't find a match and have to blend two shades together instead. I won't be the only one. -Advertised as full coverage and it isn't. That doesn't bother me because I prefer medium coverage, but if you expect this to be full coverage, you will be disappointed. -If you are sensitive to chemical sunscreens, steer clear of this. -If your skin is sensitive to alcohol in products, again, you'll want to steer clear.

Great natural coverage and lasting

After so many years, I found finally a first foundation which combines high skin protection with lightweight & comfort in one natural foundation. It offers optimal protection against urban aggressions such as skin oxidation and daily UV rays. There are so many reasons why I love it and I use it now everyday! First, in terms of protection, it has SPF 50 UVA & anti-oxidant, which makes me feel protected. Second, it has thin texture, which gives me a breathable sensation and moisturized feeling. Third, in terms of make-up result, it offers high coverage with radiant and natural look. Last but not least, the affordable price, less than 11$! I should stock several so that I can blend the different shades for the face contour and shaping. I chose the natural ivory shade. As you can see in the photos under daylight in the late afternoon, the bulk shade is a little bit lighter than my skin color, but the final shade on my skin is great after application and the color fit perfectly my skin ton. So, really a great product! I recommend all my girl friends to have a try :)

Not full coverage ( I know it’s a bb cream not foundation) I looked greasy after putting it on and I have dry skin. Not the look I was going for. I wanted this for days when taking the kids to school, the park, grocery runs. Something that was enough to say “hey she woke up and looks naturally put together” rather than “she put a full face on for kids drop off and groceries then home” y’all get it. ANYWAYS it’s December I am not sweating in the heat. I use a great skin care line and just wanted something that like I said for simple days. Well this made me look so greasy. I have dry skin and it was like rubbing Vaseline all over my face. Then as I wore it (just to drop the kids off, store and home) the cream separated. There was some coverage on my nose but none on my cheeks but then it was covered by my mouth, my forehead....well she sat in those wrinkle real good and turned a shiny crusty white. It was a cute four hour look turned into the trash she went. I would rather go bare face then deal with this. I don’t recommend it. I don’t like it and it is disappointing because I use all their other products. I have used their foundations for years, primers, concealer. It’s my go to. This just was not it for me.

I have extremely dry fair olive skin, so finding a something that works with my texture and skin tone is a nightmare. I usually have to make my own. I use this as a mixer because it has a surprising amount of coverage and a nice watery texture. I mix 4-5 drops of this with a quarter size dollop of face cream and a bit of green color corrector. It applies and wears beautifully! This is a fantastic foundation on its own, but if you like a lighter look I highly recommend trying to make your own tinted serum/moisturizer. It plays very well with basically any water-based product.

This is a great foundation that really melts into your skin. I have fairly dry skin to start and it does not leave me oily. Light coverage that is buildable with very little creasing. Lasts all day. I’ve probably tried hundreds of foundations over time, and have been using this one for a few years. SPF is also a plus. Highly recommend for older skin !

I am an oily combination skin and this spf50 foundation is lightweight and long lasting! Looks clean n complete even after 10 hours of wear. Got the wrong colour but I will get another one soon

In Canada, there is not the same selection of primers, tinted moisturizers, BB / CC creams or foundations with SPF. It is something about our regulations under our Food and Drugs Act requiring them to have a drug identification number as an over-the-counter (non-prescription) drug. Bottom-line - the selection of make-up products with SPF in Canada is extremely limited compared to our American friends. Maybelline offers several liquid facial products in the U.S. with SPF (BB cream, foundation etc) these are typically not available in Canada. So this Urban Cover with SPF is most welcome here in Canada! I have never worn foundation, but wanted makeup with SPF to use on my face. I would prefer a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, but as mentioned previously, choices in Canada are limited. As for the Maybelline Urban Cover, I ordered the Classic Ivory which in retrospect is too light for my NC25 skin (I am fair, but not porcelain). The Maybelline foundation is intended for dry/normal skin but not oily skin. My T-zone is oily so I use a different product on my T-Zone. This foundation works well on my cheeks. I have had to blend the Classic ivory with another product in order to darken it slightly. However, I am pleased with the Maybelline Urban Cover so will order another shade closer to my natural skin tone.

I never tried this when it was in local stores and now they don’t sell it any more. I really hope they don’t discontinue it. This is the holy grail of holy grails of foundation for me. It is the most natural looking foundation I have ever tried. Gives medium and buildable coverage and lasts all day. I use setting spray not powder and it doesn’t migrate or fade or bunch up in lines or anything. Doesn’t cling to my dry patches or accentuate my fine lines. I love this stuff so much I must have bought a year’s supply by now LOL.
