There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only passion and all those sinful naughty feelings caught in between. He's not the man she thinks he is. However, Marcella Garcia is willing to take a chance. Why? Her new lovers desires take her on a passionate and sexual awakening beyond her dreams. Marcella initially convinces herself that sex with no strings is enough. It's a gamble. When her desires bloom to love the risk becomes a costly mistake. Warning: Explicit Sex, Language, and Graphic Violence. Review: Great Re-Issue - Last November 2011 when Mi Carino was first issued I was a bit disappointed with the plot and character development. So not the case with the new reissue of the novel. Mi Carino - Risky Love is a definite improvement from the first release. There was an actual plot, suspense, romance, broken hearts, trust issues, and did I mention the heavy crazy love scenes? From the beginning you are swept away by the intense alpha personality of Diego. Very alpha male, dominate, and chauvinistic Diego is not your usual typical romantic hero. In fact he is anything of the sort. However, the author questions whether it is possible to love a man like Diego who has a dark past that continues to shadow his decisions. Trust and love two items that cement a growing relationship and two items that Marcella finds lacking with Diego. Ms. Mynx pushes the envelope again with creating an alpha male that is intense and sweeps both the main character and reader away with his masculinity. Marcella the main heroine of story tries her best to understand her dark lover by sacrificing her own personality, goals, friends, and even her career to satisfy his desires. Undergoing extreme highs and lows with the affair Marcella is thrown into a corner that forces her to reexamine her relationship with Diego and determine whether sacrificing her independence is a risk worth taking. The ending will have you speechless and dying to read volume II to see whether this couple makes it or not. Review: Marcella, Marcella!!! - I like this book a lot. It is not your typical love story. The hero is Diego and he is a complicated man. The heroine is Marcella and at first I thought she was just too weak, but the more I read, I realized that she is just like a lot of women. I think she is one of the most realistic characters that I've read about in a long time. She is a strong woman in her own right, but this particular man brings out weakness in her. She likes being submissive to him, and it changes her. Marcella and Diego meet briefly when they run into each other at a restaurant where she was doing some business and I guess he was too. He is so gangsta that's its hard to tell what he's doing. Marcella is a normal woman who works at a museum or some place like that. They are immediately attracted to each other. One thing leads to another and she is in love with this handsome, complicated man, but he gives her nothing in return but sex. Being a normal woman who wants love and a relationship, Diego hurts Marcella at every turn. He loves her too, but he cannot admit it to himself and especially not to her. Diego keeps breaking Marcella's heart and she goes back as soon as he touches her. It's frustrating to read, but I think this is a common thing for some women to do. Not all women, of course, but a lot of them return to relationships like this. The more I read, the more my heart broke for them both. Diego has issues that make him very scary. Anyway, make sure to check this one out. Sienna Mynx doesn't disappoints. I am on to the next book in this series. I cannot wait to see what crazy Diego does next.

Passion Galore
First, I want to say buy this book!!!!!! I purchased both Mi Carino Vol 1, and Mi Carina Vol 2, and read them back to back. Diego is a passionate and possessive Columbian with a past. Marcella is a beautiful, independent woman who falls for this incredible man. Diego is a "A-Type" personality who's a dominant. Marcella is a "U-Type" personality who is a submissive but doesn't want to be. They both struggle to give each other what they need, but don't truly understand how to love one another. Diego thinks that catering to Marcella, giving her mind-blowing sex, and dominating her body will show her his love and need for her. He doesn't understand why she rejects him at times, but loves when they make up. Marcella only wants for Diego to open up to her about his past and to tell her he loves her. This explosive relationship becomes too much for Marcella and she leaves Diego, but he can't and won't let her go. This is the first book that I've read of Sienna Mynx and it won't be the last. This story is not the typical romance and is truly a must have for any romance reader's collection. Definitely two thumbs up!

Unremarkable Yet Mildly Interesting
See this and other book review at http://msundercovergeek.blogspot.com/ My Overall Impression of the Book: I bought this book on a whim. I was interested in reading an interracial romance and this book had good reviews so I decided to give it chance. The book had a decent plot, interesting characters, and a different type of love story, but it was unremarkable. I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it either. Of course the story ended on a cliffhanger, but I am in no hurry to read the second book in the series. I rarely get a Saturday afternoon that I can dedicate to reading a book and I regret choosing making this book. I feel cheated in a sense. Diego has an interesting back story and he and Marissa had some from steamy love scenes that would make you blush, this book was average at best. The story centers on Marcella, a beautiful and talented antique seller who is getting over a broken heart from her former boyfriend. She meets arrogant, powerful, bad boy Diego Andres and sparks fly. Characters: Marcella โ I actually liked Marcella but I did not love her. I did love how she stood up to Diego especially during their first real encounter. A man like Diego is use to getting his way and Marcella put him in his place quite a few times, I love that in a heroine. I actually sympathized with her character. When it came to love, she always seemed to get the short end of the stick, but I just could not connect with her. I understood her emotions but I did not feel them, the writing was too surface. I donโt understand how she did not see that the relationship she had with Diego was completely unhealthy. Diego โ The jury is still out on Diego. I am sure most women who read this book will dislike him, he was a complete jerk, but he could also be sweet and attentive. This couple did not know how to handle the amount of passion they ignited in one another. Diego had some serious emotional issues and did not know how to process emotion in a healthy way. He gave Marcella so much pain and despair the story and did not show any redeeming qualities until the very end, which was not nearly enough. I am not sure if this story is capable of a HEA, itโs a little disturbing. These two finding their way back to each may be the death of both of them.

Damn Diego
I think Sienna Mynx out did herself with all her previous alpha males Diego is one of her best. This sexy Latin hot throb puts the "C" in cold and calculating; after a destructive past of betrayal by the one you love Diego finds it hard to love/trust anyone especially women. Marcella loves Diego but finds his controlling ways and stubborness nerve racking getting Diego to talk about himself is like pulling teeth from a yawning lion. They have countless fights leaving Marcella more frustrated than anything else. Diego wants to tell Marcella the truth about him but is afraid she'd be turned off after learning his own mother is the reason why he's the way he is. Mi Carino (Risky Love) is a RISKY novel you'll want to seek your teeth in MS. MYNX did something daring with this series...... on to volume II!

Great story!
Mi Carino is not a romance, and the lead characters are not your typical hero and heroine found in romance stories. Marcella was a very sweet art director who fell in love with Diego. Diego was an ex-Colombian drug cartel hitman turned businessman that fell in obsessive lust with Marcella. This book tells the first half of their mis-matched story. Not only will you love witnessing their tumultuous relationship blossom and fade, but you will enjoy how well written and engaging this story is. Despite the often disturbing glimpse of the darker side of sex and love that this story portrays, this author continues to bring her signature dramatic fiction, with a heavy dose of HOTNESS! I loved this book, and would recommend to anyone who can deal with the heavier and darker side of relationships.

Arousing
First, like to say that Richard, the cheater should have left Marcella alone once and for all. His attempt to re-kindle their relationship felt like adding insult to injury. He was a real bastard. About the Spanish written in this book, I think the author should had a fluent Spanish speaking person edit her Spanish. Some of the translations did not make sense, and for non-Spanish speaker readers some of the words and/or phrases could have been futile if they were to look them up. For example, there is no such word in the Spanish dictionary as "Miejo", actually is two words: 'Mi hijo'. Also, there were typos, which is something I have criticized the writer in the past about. As for Diego, a bit weird, a bit of a dick, and a crazy MF!. There was an interesting scene, which only proves the clichรฉ that men think with their small heads, not to mention his arrogance. Bottom line, Diego was pathetic, but when he started to become vulnerable, and I started like him, especially when learning about his childhood, and the "mother" he has the misfortune to have! As for Marcella, I don't understand how she stayed with him after the severe punishment he inflicted on her, which could be defined as rape more than anything else. But I must admit that Diego was cute, sexy and devilish arousing! Marcella, on the other hand, was feisty, and even daring. There were some comical moments throughout the book, and I found Susan particularly funny, and also a bitch in a good way. There were at a couple of really HOT scenes! An abrupt ending, although understandable there is a continuation. Despite all, I enjoyed this book and kept me thinking about it for a while.

Building Relationship Around Books-Karen Green-Berry
I have yet to read a novel written by Sienna Mynx that I have not been touched by. This is Diego and Marcella's story. Diego has had a rough upbringing and witnessed his mother's betrayal and his father's murder as a young boy. He ran away at an early age with his brother and sister, who died tragically at a young age. As a result he grew up to be a ruthless individual who cared about no one. His actions led to a lot of people being hurt and being feared by many. He then met Marcella, and even though he found himself not able to exist without her, he was unable to show her the love she needed. This is the first of two books that tells Diego and Marcella's story. Even though the men in Sienna Mynx story are sometimes rough, ruthless, individuals, she somehow always show their vulnerability and sensitivity so you cannot help but fall in love with them. Diego is no exception and this novel will take you on an amazing ride.

Loved the story!
I have now read the Mi Carino Series - I won't give away the story. I know Kerry Fonville you did not like Diego much. I actually liked him and I was rooting for him the whole time. I am always for the couple no matter what and I am usually on the woman's side but I found in this story I was for Diego all the way!! He needed Marcella to teach him how to love because he did not really know how to because of his past! He wanted her to teach him because he did not know how to love her the way she wanted. I liked Marcella but I felt she was hard on Diego with her exceptions of him. This is only my view I am sure there are lots of other views about this story, we all take different things from what we read. Great series. Sienna Mynx is my author of the month and I would recommend this series!

Obsessive love provides a good read
This is a good read - and after reading a spate of short stories, it was nice to get stuck into something meaty that allowed closer engagement with the characters. This is the story about a young African-American-Cuban woman and a Colombian man. She has just emerged from a messy break-up after discovering her boyfriend is married. He is an enigmatic businessman, wealthy with a shady reputation but working inside the law (just!). They fall into a fiery and oh so very passionate relationship. The H and H really have nothing in common other than a sometimes painful love for each other. The book actually starts us off at the end of the story before we work through to how it got there. I did like the heroine, Marcella Garcia, who is sometimes exasperating, sometimes a little too self-absorbed and a lot of the time muddled about what she wants. Diego Andes the hero is a more complex character. He comes from a wretched background and in reality had no childhood and this awful start in life always colours the way he thinks and behaves. He loves Marcella in an obsessively possessive and sometimes frightening manner. The two main beefs Marcella has with him are that 1. He is secretive and expects her (his woman, or his Marcella as he invariably refers to her) to yield to him in all matters. 2. His lack of interest in the parts of her life that he is not involved in. The main beef I as a reader had with Marcella was the way that she seemed to bury her head in the sand about anything unpleasant she discovers about Diego. It is hard to give examples without giving away plot workings and as there are many twists and turns, I believe most readers would prefer to find out for themselves. Marcella works as a gallery acquisitions director and I especially wanted to mention that the author does a good job depicting the art world whenever the focus is on Marcella's work life. I wavered between three and four stars for this book but I went on to read the second and final part of the story (Mi Carina: Diego's Wrath) immediately after and decided I was being too miserly. Risky Love deserves four in comparison. It is worth reading.

Oh my!!!
As usual a riveting novel from the author! I began this knowing just knowing it would be one I wouldn't be able to put down and it was so. Will not, as some reviewers do thereby spoiling it for others, go into what it's about but will say that it was truly fascinating, steamy, and a page turning book always making you ask ' what's coming on the next page?'. Loved it, author certainly knows how to write and at the same time engage the reader. I would say that I have noticed that the author always takes her time in the beginning to warm up to her plot but when she does, it's all systems a go!!!

Awesome ride and read. Very very good
I have read both this book and the following book in the series. They were absolutely awesome. Just the way I like my books. Dark, alluring, erotic, sexy tortured hero, multicultural, clever, intelligent, heroine who is not a whimper and does use her brain, other sexy and interesting characters. I am not going to give a full review, but it was a riveting read. In fact I could not put either of the two books down and read each in one sitting and went to bed at 3.30 am and 5.00 am respectively. No typos could be found. Excellent editing. Everything made sense. I can only highly recommend that you get this series
