The USB stick had installation SW for Linux, Mac (10.6 to 10.13), and Windows. I have tried the Windows version only. I am using windows 10. The instruction booklet could use some updating, as beyond the USB vs CD difference, things did not work as the booklet stated. I had to manually restart my computer to get the installation to work even though the book says the installation SW should have guided me to do that. Once that was done, things seem to work well. I can see all my home WIFI routers, and even my neighbors is showing 100% signal strength whereas on my phone (G' S7) the neighbors router only shows 2/4 bars.I purchased this to use on someone else's computer in an institution where the signal strength is marginal. If I think of it, I'll try to update this review in a couple of months after I try that out. ### ⭐⭐ DANGEROUS SOFTWARE ON USB DRIVE! DON'T USE THE USB DRIVE! *by J***M on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2020* The BAD FIRST - Scan the usb drive your give because there’s not only drivers on it but malware as well.This device uses Realtek chipset and works very well. again don't use the USB with out scanning first.Just make sure you check that drive. So sad that a seller on here does this.UPDATE:Product is still working great! Again, DON'T use the usb drive to install the drivers with out scanning it first as there is dangerous software on this drive that will allow others to take over your computer. Just go get the REALTEK USB WIRELESS LAN UTILITY software.UNDERSTAND this would be a 5 star product if it wasn't for the nefarious software on the USB drive and that is why it lost 3 stars. ### ⭐ Quality problem with the adapter I received *by A***1 on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2019* For context, I was trying to use this adapter to get higher data speeds with an external antenna as my built-in desktop antenna is blocked by walls and sits under my desk. The signal was fairly good in a direct line of sight setup, but dropped off rapidly with even a little bit of wall blockage. That was not my issue, really. The problem I had was that the USB cable would not stay securely in the adapter housing, causing intermittent disconnect/reconnect (often). Even a little vibration would cause a problem. Even after I taped the cable to the housing, 30 minutes later the adapter died.
