The best desk/mouse mat available.
I've purchased 2 of these mats after growing tired of cloth mats. The first lasted 2 years before I replaced it unnecessarily, and the current one is going on 2 year and 2 months. I'm about to order another replacement for reasons listed below. Unlike cloth mats, these have incredible oil and fluid resistance. I've spilled water, beer, and cocktails on these and they barely soak in and can be easily cleaned with damp paper towels. They dry quickly and don't retain moisture for long. Additionally, they don't catch or cling to oil from your hands/wrists, and while it may appear that they "scratch" easily, all it takes is a damp paper towel to get them looking new. My only gripe is with the stitching along the border of the surface and the silicone base, which does begin to fray over time depending where you place the most pressure on - in my case, the bottom of the mat as that's where my wrists wrest on. I don't know why other reviewers show the surface peeling away from the silicone base so dramatically over a day of use when none of mine have peeled over the course of 2 years, but the stitching does begin to show fray within a few months - which, being nylon stitching, just requires a second or two of burning it off with a lighter. Not once has the surface bubbled or separate off the mat. As for feel, I have no complaints with my G502, but I'm also a rare breed who doesn't believe your mouse or mousepad has any effect on your ability to play a video game. My mouse glides just fine over the surface and doesn't catch or feel abrasive. It's actually a massive improvement over cloth pads - the only thing that can top this is aluminum and good luck finding anything aluminum in this size. I have a great disdain for cloth mats as they absorb literally everything, are too soft, and while cheap, I'd rather have something that lasts years rather than replace every 6 months, and in the off-chance you spill food or drink on it, won't absorb and fester bacteria. Bottom line, this is the one product Mad Catz has manufactured and QA/QC'd correctly, because my only memory of them prior was being handed one of their trash controllers by a friend in middle school to play Halo. Oh, and it looks nice as long as you keep it clean. With a damp paper towel. Pretty simple.

Glide 38 is Apex Quality
The material is similar to a polished leather wallet. It's very comfortable to touch. It's incredibly durable, so much so that it held up for easily thousands of hours in competitive and pro-am eSports gaming. It's incredibly easy to clean, I'd advise simply spraying it with cold or lukewarm in your sink and leaving it to dry. Out of the box it has an insane amount of glide to a fault. But after a break in period the surface really gives back and is better than it starts. It's considered a speed pad, and it is initially. But it's textured surface really helps you lock in for those flick shots when you need to. It's just perfect, I can't put it any other way. This mousepad has really been my go to for a year now. Unfortunately it is worn out, not due to my own management. My brother loves it, but he scratches it with his fingers. Like what, why? Than this virtual schooling started, and the mother of my child made it a habit to drop my daughters laptop directly onto it. So this beauty... just fell apart over the course of two months. It's really a shame. A small problem that's easily fixable, along with any other mousepad that has stitchless edges. They will fray. But that isn't an issue if you run a lighter across the edge of your mousepad to burn the threads as they appear. This works for any mousepad. Now just to make sure I'm not overcommitted to this mousepad with my current opinion. I am trying new mousepads this time around. Thank you Black Friday, but if they all fail I know what I'm coming back to. Glide 38 is apex quality. This is literally the gold standard of speed and control. I can't find any reason to dislike this mousepad and never will.

Amazing PREMIUM mouse pad for the price
After using my Glorious Mousepad (L) for almost 3 years, I decided I wanted to upgrade. That's when the search for the perfect mouse pad started. I wanted a mouse pad that was fast but with control. A pad that was easily cleaned and was very durable. I wanted a pad that would give me more mouse space but not take up too much space. That's when I found this pad. I bought the 19-inch version. Features: There are 3 big selling points to this pad. 1). Completely water-resistance The mouse pad is completely water resistant allowing for very easy cleaning. I've tested this and anticipate this mouse will last a long time due to this. 2). Fast surface while still providing lots of control for your mouse. The surface is made out of some sort of hybrid material which feels like a weird combination of cloth and hard mousepad. It doesn't irritate my wrists and my Logitech G Pro Wireless glides across smoothly. 3). Lack of stitched edges. Instead of stitched edges, the edges have been heated so they don't fray. I love this design as it does not disrupt your mouse at the edge and also does not irritate your wrists. Aside from those big points, the base is silicone (easy to clean) and does not move on my (polished) wood table. The mouse pad is almost as fast as a hard pad, such as the Glorious Helios, yet retains the flexibility of a cloth pad. I think the best way to sum this all up is by calling this a premium pad as it is priced at 25$ for a large and 60$ for the extended version. Pros: - Easy to clean - Very fast while maintaining control - Water-resistant - Heated edges instead of stitched edges - Size is good as it provides enough mouse space but some may want more Cons: - On the heavier side when compared to cloth pads - 2 logos both on the top left and right **** Ill update with more pros/cons as I use this pad more **** Who would I recommend this to? Gamers who want a fast and durable pad. As for casual use, some people may not like the speed and logo of the pad. I would personally use it for casual use but others may not. Know that you are paying for a premium pad! Some other mouse pads to consider: Aurous AMP 500 ~$40 ASUS Scabbard ~$40-50 Artisan Raiden ~$40 (31+9 SHIPPING) - Note: I highly recommend buying off of the official website: Artisan-Jp.com as there are many fakes being sold. For non-hybrid pads: QCK Classic/Glorious Mousepads for a balance of control and fast Zowie-GSR for slow and controlled

Without a doubt, best mouse pad I've owned.
Over the years I have bought countless mouse pads of all shape, size, price, material and manufacture method. Some have been terrible, others great but most were merely okay. None of them struck the perfect balance for me until I picked up the 19" Mad Catz GLIDE we have here. Let me attempt to describe it. The tracking surface is perhaps describable as the perfect balance between traditional cloth gaming pads and the slick metal ones. The material is soft to the touch, but firm, with an ever so slight 'cushion' to it. As such it doesn't feel like a cold piece of sheet metal that punishes bad form with discomfort or like how soft pads do when you press down and add resistance. But what really sets it apart; -A spritz of cleaner and it's good to go. No lint, no residue, just clean as new. -No slipping and sliding. Even the better mouse pads I've had would give into a little movement over time, not this one. I'd like to see more variations. Perhaps a few low-key color varietals and a large square cut. I don't like the logos either on the pad, but it's not a big deal.

The best mousepad money can buy
After 3 years of use, it's easily a glowing recommendation from me for this mousepad. The GLIDE is very thin, fast and has a soft touch with the hybrid cloth/rubberized surface. As an FPS fan I love it, especially with the upgraded Tiger ICE skates on my mouse. The fact that this mousepad has held up for so long for less than the price of a new game makes it a no brainer for me. I'll buy it again when the time comes but it is still in great shape after all this time! Not really even any fraying on the edges. As mentioned previously, I've owned the same GLIDE 38 for three years now. I have come close to replacing it many times but it's surprisingly easy to clean and restore to its original performance/appearance. I've washed it a bunch of times and wiped it down with Pledge a thousand times in between. It's held up phenomenally well despite being used every day for hours and subjected to the elements of work from home and gaming life. The spot where the mouse typically rests has worn in and slowed down a little bit, but scrubbing it with dish soap and warm water, then wiping with a towel and leaving to air dry restores the slick surface to 90-95% of what it was brand new, even with age. Wiping with Pledge on a rag also helps quite a bit with refreshing the surface in between washes. Replacing the mouse skates on my G502X with Tiger ICE made any sort of slowdown from wear nonexistent. They're quite literally the perfect combination. Hard to find anything bad to say about this mousepad other than that it is a little more expensive than typical. However the price is offset by the longevity and performance you get out of it. If you like a fast mousepad surface for gaming, this is hands-down the best you can get.

Great mouse pad
I had the steel series QCK before . I had to switch the mouse pad because when I game I have a problem that I move my mouse a lot and most of my mouse pads always moved on the desk.... this one barely move and it is an overall great pad! the glide is amazing . helped me a lot with my aim , I put 4 stars only because I got it only a week and its already getting dirty enough so the glide will be less noticeable. ---------- Update ----------- I bought one of this in January 10, 2021 It got frayed 10 days after I got It , asked for replacement ( thought maybe mine was defective ) in February 11, 2021 I got my Replacement , Now its April 18/04/2021 It got frayed again in the first 10 days but I didn't want to bother returning it . What a mistake . Lets Begin with The first con : IT got really dirty after only 2 weeks . I watched some tutorials on how to clean it , they all say go to bath and add laundry powder , so I did , It IS still dirty after 2 Runs ! so Idk how everybody saying its easy to clean , cause its not ! I tried only water , water with laundry powder , Dishes soap , even paper towels , none of this worked , Con 2 : It got Separated From His bottom after the first Wash , which meant it can't be cleaned . ( I wasn't putting any strength into it . just got separated because of the water ) Con 3 : It lost his out of the box glide in the first week . summary : I wouldn't recommend this mouse pad to any gamers / office workers out there . It isn't durable and his glide doesn't worth a penny if it doesn't hold on . instead go check out the glorious element mouse pads , I haven't tried them yet but my friend has 2 of them and he says they are great and easy to clean , plus in the buy menu there is a manual who tells u how to clean the mouse pad correctly.

Great mousemat, but not for sweaty people.
I love this mat. It's fantastic. That being said, because of the way I rest my arm on my desk when mousing, there is a small section of the mat where the top layer has separated from the rubber base. Really easy to clean, excellent surface that doesn't seem to wear down (I've had mine for at least 8 months now and no problems in that front) There's a bit of fraying strands on the edges but I've pulled them without any major issues. I'd give this mat a 5/5 if not for the layer separation early into owning it.
