Great product
Pump and filter came ontime, easy set up. Works fantastic. Works great for my 6000 gallon pool, will cycle my pool 3 times in 8hr run time. Pools been crystal clear since install. Would definitely recommend for an upgrade to your aboveground pool. I used PVC pipe and fittings to install on my pool for added strength and longevity. Sand filter requires sand not included. Takes roughly 75lbs of sand to fill 3/4 of filter bin up. Will need to purchase separately.

Crazy Value
Replaced a much much more expensive pump that I cant reliably find replacement parts for at the start of the 2025 season. Filter ran 24/7 for that summer, and after being winterized correctly, it is starting the 2026 season in perfect condition. Absolutely 0 leaks, and does great with our 18,000 gallon pool.

1 Star โ Not Worth the Money
I would not recommend the XtremepowerUS 16" Sand Filter Pump. Since April 2025, I have purchased two of these units, and both have failed. The first pump developed a problem when the seal on the sand filter assembly broke. I attempted to find a replacement part but was unable to purchase one, so I ended up buying a second complete unit just to have spare parts available. Unfortunately, the second pump wasn't any better. It made it through the last month of the 2025 pool season, and when I set my pool up again in 2026, it initially worked great. However, after a short period of use, the pump began shutting off and turning back on approximately every 45 seconds, making it unusable. I contacted XtremepowerUS customer service by email and was told that because I was outside of their 30-day warranty period, they would not provide any assistance. For a product that is expected to last multiple seasons, a 30-day warranty and lack of support is extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, these pumps are not durable, replacement parts are difficult to obtain, and customer service was unwilling to help when the product failed. Save your money and look for a higher-quality sand filter pump from another manufacturer.

Keeping it clear
As someone who understands the importance of crystal-clear pool water, especially with the warm summer here in Boaz, AL, a reliable filter pump is absolutely essential. I recently upgraded to the XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump, and overall, it's been a great addition to my pool setup. Review: XtremePowerUS 13-inch Sand Filter Pump โ A Powerful Cleaner, Just Needs a Window to the World Keeping an above-ground pool pristine can be a chore, but the right equipment makes all the difference. My new XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump has proven to be a workhorse, making pool maintenance significantly easier. Quality & Performance: A Clean Machine First off, the overall quality of this pump is commendable. It feels solidly built, and the components appear durable enough to withstand the demands of continuous pool filtration. The pump is adequately powered for its size, effectively circulating the water and pushing it through the sand media. It works exactly as it should, consistently keeping my pool water nice and clean. Gone are the days of cloudy water and visible debris; this filter system maintains a clarity that makes swimming much more inviting. For the performance it delivers, the price was good, offering excellent value compared to other options on the market. Shipping & Setup: Swift and Simple The purchasing experience was also top-notch. The shipping was fast, getting the pump to my doorstep in Guntersville quicker than expected. This meant less downtime for my pool and more time for enjoyment. Setup was straightforward, and I had it up and running without any major hiccups, which is always a relief when dealing with new pool equipment. The One Missing Piece: No Site Glass My only significant critique, and it's one that impacts convenience more than core performance, is the lack of a dedicated site glass to know when to backwash. For those unfamiliar, a site glass (or sight glass) is a small, clear window usually located on the multiport valve of a sand filter. It allows you to visually monitor the color of the backwash water. When the water turns clear, you know the sand is clean and you can stop the backwash cycle. Without this feature, I'm left guessing a bit. While I rely on the pressure gauge (backwashing when the pressure rises about 8-10 PSI above its clean reading) and a rough estimate of time, a visual confirmation would be incredibly helpful. It would prevent over-backwashing (saving water) or under-backwashing (ensuring optimal filtration). It's a small detail that makes a big difference in efficient maintenance. Final Verdict: Despite the absence of a site glass, the XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump is an excellent choice for maintaining a clean and clear above-ground pool. Its good quality, effective cleaning power, and competitive price, coupled with fast shipping, make it a highly recommended product. If you're comfortable relying on your pressure gauge and a bit of a routine for backwashing, this pump will serve you very well and keep your pool sparkling clean all season long. It's a solid 5 out of 5 stars for its performance and value!

Pump is good. Some of the parts are not
We bought a Bestway pool from Costco last year. The pool is great and the kids enjoyed itโฆ until it turned green. No matter what I did, it would not get all the algae out, even with the vacuum. We abandoned the pool until the heat came back around this year. I did not heed the warnings and used the pump that came with the pool, a Bestway 1500GPH sand filter. I did everything I could to make it work, but the water continued to get cloudy. I took it apart, serviced it and when I put it back together, it started spewing some sand into the pool. I finally broke down and bought the XtremepowerUS 3,100GPH Swimming Pool 16" Sand Filter as an upgrade. Setup was luckily pretty easy, save a couple issues. I only put 100 pounds of sand in it. There are some conflicting amounts on the reviews on here, but it could be due to the size of their filter. Similar 16โ filters range from 100 to 130 pounds of sand. Hereโs were some of the negatives come in. 1) When I put the flange clamp on the neck of the filter, it broke on one of ends when tightening it. I will definitely need to replace it, but made it work pending a replacement. 2) The hose that goes between the pump and the filter was deformed where it flushes up to the rubber o-ring, causing a leak. I had to remove the hose and grind/sand it flush. 3) One of the long hoses that came with it has a couple pinholes in it. Luckily, the Bestway filter hoses worked. 4) All of the hoses internal area was deformed so much that they would not fit over the connections of Intex plunger valves or the output valve. Again, the hoses that came with the Bestway pump were needed. Overall The pump and filter work great. The pool went from cloudy to clear in less than 48 hours and the kids are enjoying.

Best upgrade for you above ground pool
I purchased the XtremepowerUS 13โ Sand Filter with the 3/4 HP, 2,400 GPH pump last summer for my 16-foot above-ground pool, and it has been one of the best upgrades Iโve made. Since switching to this sand filter system, maintaining crystal-clear water has been much easier. I use significantly fewer chemicals than before, and my water stays balanced with just shock treatments and chlorine tablets. The filtration is so much better that I no longer have to constantly fight cloudy water or spend money on extra chemicals trying to keep things clean. The only minor issue I experienced was the hose that connects the pump to the sand tank. Over time, it developed a crack and started leaking. Unfortunately, mine cracked in the middle of the night, and I didnโt notice until the next morning. I replaced the hose with PVC piping, which made the setup much more secure and reliable. While it was an inconvenience, it wasnโt enough to affect my overall opinion of the pump. Performance-wise, this system is a huge improvement over the small cartridge pump that comes with most above-ground pools. It filters the water much faster, provides better circulation, and even gives my pool fountain attachment noticeably stronger water pressure. Another benefit is the sand itself. A bag costs around $25, and I havenโt had to replace it during the entire swimming season. Compared to constantly buying replacement filters and additional chemicals for the stock pump, this setup saves both time and money. Overall, I still give this pump a solid 5-star rating. The hose issue was minor compared to all the benefits. If youโre tired of dealing with cloudy water, weak circulation, and expensive filter replacements, save yourself the headache and upgrade to this sand filter system. I promise you wonโt regret it.

Unbelievably awesome
Okay so it took me a minute to get everything set up and done but now I have found everything is working awesome! This company is totally on the up and up, I ended up breaking the clamp on the sand filter I told them and they just sent me a new one and when I finally got back from a trip I finished up the rest, the pump wasn't working, so I let them know, told them what was happening and they sent me a new pump, with a snap of a finger. Unbelievable great customer service! It is a strong pump it does well with what I'm doing only 300 gallons, probably would do a much bigger pool no problem. I would definitely say if you're trying to choose which sand filter and pumpto buy, buy from them, granted I haven't had others so being the first experience I was very happy with this company.

Great pump, first timer users will need adapters
UPDATE: Does my review below still make sense? Yes. But I felt it necessary to update this review after having a problem with the pump. The hoses that came with it failed, it happens, gets really hot here and they are always exposed. When they failed, they DRENCHED the control board for the pump. it filled with water and now it does not turn on at all, making it useless. Since the REST of the motor works, i figured on buying a new board direct from the company. Except it is out of stock. I have reached out via email and phone directly, and have received no replies, no help and have no other way to fix this pump. So I will have to get a replacement, of another brand. What a great piece of hardware for the price! The value is excellent. Has great horsepower and great suction. If this is a replacement unit, you know what you are doing already and have all you need. HOWEVER, if this is the first time you EVER put in a sand system, there is a 99 percent chance you will need some kind of adapters for the hoses. The included instructions are ... questionable. Watch some YouTube videos of installs to really get how this is supposed to be setup, they will be much more helpful than the paper instructions. The timer function is a good feature, but it would be GREAT if it was more intuitive. Your natural thought process for the pump is that when you turn it on, the pump is on constantly until you SET the timer. That is not the case here. When you turn it on, it immediately goes to the 2 hour setting and then shuts off until 24 hours pass, then it will come on again for 2 hours. So if you need it to run for X amount of hours, you need to set the timer, THEN turn it on. I wish I could tell you what adapters you will need for this. I had a Summer Waves pool that needed a 1.5in to 2in adapter. I was able to find what I needed at Lowes, but only after scouring the internet for hours. Lots of people have LOTS of solutions for making this work, they will require plumbing skills. If you don't have them, get flexible couplings like I did. They worked great and only cost about 15 bucks when it was all said and done. (see black couplers on ends of hoses in photos)

Mentira de especificaciones
Mentira. Estoy viendo el manual y las especificaciones de la bomba de agua es en realidad de 1/2 caballo, no 3/4 como dice las imรกgenes de producto.

You need to purchase hose adapters so you can use with intex pools.
Easy set up but crappy instructions. No pictures.

Multiport Valve FAILED After 1 Season of Use!
The multiport valve failed after 1 season (5 months) of use. Quality is very poor and most components aren't serviceable. The price is low but you get what you pay for.
