Another great movie with Selene and Michael. Lots of great action that continues the story of the vampires and lycans. It also has a love story.

Why can't they all just get along? The Vampires and Werewolves "at each others throats" for so many generations instead of letting bygones be bygones and teaming up to feed on us mere mortals...I mean...how silly. Well I guess it's a good thing for us though, no? Because without the war there would be no action-packed series thrillers called Underworld and Underworld Evolution. There's suspense, tons of action and a great storyline from the start of the original right through Evolution...which is a bit of a prequel/sequel. All of the key characters are back in Evolution played by the same actors...with the same director. That's the first ingredient to a successful sequel. The main addition is the Vampire Marcus that we saw coming to life briefly at the end of the original. The effects in the original and in Evolution are great. Marcus' flying in Evolution looks a bit more magical than he is actually using his wings, but otherwise the movie is visually spectacular. The series documents a war that has been raging between the Vampires and Lycans for years all because one of the Vampire leaders didn't want his Vampire daughter marrying a Wolfman several centuries back. Flash back to the present and Kate Beckinsale is a Death Dealer/Vampire that hunts the last of the Lycan. Scott Speedman was a mortal in the original that supposedly held the key to end the war, but he unfortunately took some licks (and a couple bites...key words: a couple) protecting that key. Now in Evolution let's just say that he's more like X-Men's Wolverine than mild mannered Michael Corvin. A rift between the Lycans and Death Dealing Vampires is borne in Evolution involving Viktor's brothers, Marcus and Willliam. Hence the saga continues with a sequel that thoroughly entertains. Both the original and Evolution come in a brilliant HD transfer with terrific 5.1 sound. All in all a very well done story that pays to watch from the beginning. Yes, Evolution stands alone. But this is one movie that I believe was not intended for seeing prior to the original. So if you haven't already, you'll want to purchase both Underworld and Underworld Evolution and watch them in order. Definitely worth the purchase getting both movies into your collection. They are keepers for those into the genre.

Classic movie

Underworld took the world by storm as a much more action packed Vampire versus Werewolf film. Kate Beckensale is awesome as Serena, an avid hunter and killer of werewolves. She is the center and anchor for the entire series, which now numbers three. I have the first in Bluray, which tempted me into buying this, the second installment, also in Bluray. When Rise of the Lycans comes down in price, I will buy it also. This is simply one of the best Vampire movies that I have seen, albeit a bit dark. This is corrected by being Bluray, which does not change the darkness, but increases the clarity to a point that perfectly visible scenes are possible. Now the darkness of the movie does not hide, but simply enhances the viewers immersion into the film. A must for Vampire fans - all three installments.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, die "Underworld: Evolution (Limited Steelbook Edition)" Blu-ray zu sehen und war absolut begeistert von diesem Film. Als großer Fan der ersten "Underworld"-Filmreihe konnte ich es kaum erwarten, diese Fortsetzung zu sehen, und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Erst einmal möchte ich die hochwertige Steelbook-Edition erwähnen, in der die Blu-ray verpackt ist. Das Design des Steelbooks ist einfach atemberaubend und verleiht dem Film einen zusätzlichen Hauch von Exklusivität. Es ist definitiv ein Sammlerstück, das in keiner Filmsammlung fehlen sollte. Was den Film selbst angeht, kann ich nur sagen, dass er alle Erwartungen erfüllt hat. Die actiongeladenen Szenen, die spektakulären visuellen Effekte und die mitreißende Handlung sorgen dafür, dass man von der ersten Minute an gefesselt ist. Kate Beckinsale in der Hauptrolle als Vampir-Kriegerin Selene ist einfach großartig. Ihre Darstellung verleiht dem Film Intensität und Tiefe. Die Fortsetzung setzt die Geschichte nahtlos fort und bietet einen spannenden Einblick in die Welt der Vampire und Werwölfe. Die Kämpfe zwischen den beiden Rassen sind episch inszeniert und sorgen für jede Menge Adrenalin. Aber nicht nur die Action steht im Vordergrund, auch die Charakterentwicklung und die Beziehungen zwischen den verschiedenen Figuren werden gut dargestellt. Die Bild- und Tonqualität auf dieser Blu-ray sind beeindruckend. Die Details sind gestochen scharf und die Farben sind lebendig. Der Soundtrack unterstützt die Atmosphäre des Films perfekt und lässt einen noch tiefer in die Handlung eintauchen. Alles in allem kann ich die "Underworld: Evolution (Limited Steelbook Edition)" Blu-ray jedem Fan des Genres und der Filmreihe empfehlen. Dieser Film bietet spannende Action, beeindruckende Effekte und eine fesselnde Geschichte, die man immer wieder anschauen kann.

Alors le film est super, je le connais de longue date, et je crois pouvoir dire que c'est le meilleur de la série, mais cette version Blu-Ray est en Allemand : il y a aussi l'Anglais, mais PAS le Français, voilà vous êtes avertis.
