These work great w/the added bonus of a speed boost, and longevity.I've used them for a few years now but this memory issue is absurd (cranking up the cost).Definitely worth the buy, but I'm currently staying away from all nvme devices unless absolutely needed.

Edit: First off, i've looked through many of the negative reviews, it looks like many of the DOA/broken drive reviews are due to using a SATA drive in a PCIe slot, which i did the reverse of initially on my tablet below, trying to use one of my spare NVMe drives, at least 1 of them legitimately looked like a dead driver. But unlike many newer devices, some older devices, like my tablet, can accept M key and B key, but only supports SATA drives.Was about to recycle an old tablet because its SSD was failing, when i found it was replacable, so i decided to throw this 2TB SSD into it for use as a portable, micro file server(with internal battery backup that lasts for several hours-screen off-). I cant really speak to how fast it in a normal machine, because the drive is being held back by my tablet, which only has a core M5-6y54. On both the old factory 256GB, and new 2TB drive it was limited to peaks of about 450MB/s even on an external USB-C drive that on other machines could top out at 800MB/s. but because this is a 5w intel processor, it can only burst to 400MB/s (500MB/s if the test was short) for a few seconds while running at 2.4Ghz, often slowing to under 1.0Ghz resulting in sub 200MB/s reads on everything from intenal SSDs, to external USB-C enclosures with an optane drive, or SDXC USHiii. This may be a limitation of the processor, this may be a limitation of the SATA controller, or both, but i did run a 64GB test to see if this slow machine could catch up to the slow QLC by filling the TLC cache.Of note, while you should expect this drive to slow down to somewhere between 60 and 180MB/s if writing alot of data to it sequentially, say copying photos/videos from an SD card. Keep in mind that this is only a limitation of the QLC flash technology when writing. Reading that data back should be really fast once the TLC cache has been flushed/not transitioning to QLC, probably close to the limit of the sata interface of around 550MB/s, though my tablet is incapable of this(maxed out all 4 threads at 500MB/s)For this review, i decided to trick the CPU into turboing for longer, and while there seems to be a limit as to how long it can stay at 2.5Ghz, as long as i cool this fanless device with something, it seems to run at 1.9Ghz indefinatelycrystal disk mark results are attached for a 64GB test. I couldnt observe the tablet while the test was running because of my cooling solution, but my guess is that either the test requires more CPU power in writes, this drive's native writes arent as fast as its reads, or the tablet was able to catch up to the TLC cache towards the end of the test. Or a combination of the three factors

well, I got a 256 stick.It writes at about 150MB/s. Which is twice as fast as 7200 rpm HDD 80MB/s, and about much faster then a SD-card 12MB/s.SPEEDis not a Product CON, as advertised its SATA III. Which is capped at write speeds accordingly.This product will peak at that speed as desired.QUALITY:no issues so far, with recognizing the drive or lost data. (haven't used it long enough to experience this.)further notes:SPEED Recommendation:SATA III speed; Pales in comparison to GEN 3 or GEN 4 M.2 SSD (internal write speeds of 1000MB, and a proper external adapter will write speeds of 300MBs capped only by the actual 3.1 speeds).Compatibility:Recommend Formatting this card as MBR with EXFAT for maximum compatibility. (android, linux, chromeOS, other windows OS, FUTURE Windows OS versions, VM, etc...)I personally Only use GPT and NTFS if the drive will be over more then 1 Terrabyte. Many reasons, lost data and drive recognition one of them, Sata Drivers, Etc...WHY? Because I use this with USB adapters. And drive cloners.WHY USB adapters?I have found that with Windows 11, If I install this internally, then 'initiate' and 'format'. And later Need to move this to another machine for any reason!...It won't work.The data will be there, but recovery tools are needed, successful recovery failed once and I actually had to FIX the Laptop to get the data back.It's simply Not swappable with another machine if Initiated with a motherboard slot. Even an Identical Machine and Model.

The ssd work just promised I would buy it again

They have plenty of sizes to use. I took this card, & installed it in to my mini computer. The computer is for the 3d printer. This card is to add software & to hold some files for printing.I am super happy that this came extra fast after the holidays! Nearly a week faster! It was nicely packaged in a bag for recycling (yea).Installation was super easy. You can watch my install video here. It is, on installing the card into the mini computer. You can add the NVME drive how ever you may like.Formatting & installing files was as easy as any other internal drive. Do keep in mind that you need to let Windows know you put it in. Reboot. I cold reboot when installing drives internally. Cold reboot means to shut off the computer.After the set-up, I was installing files & software. This is a very nice drive. I had thought about the other drives, & may get a larger one still. I'll see.Five star reviews should be earned, & this card gets that! The company sent it along quickly, & it took the files like they belonged there. However you use your card, is up to you. I don't see there is any problem at all with these. I would imagine they install in to readers just as well as internally.Good luck on your installation. I, am super happy these things offer so much space & speed. I was talking about it the other day with somebody.

I bought this SSD about almost 9 months ago. As of a few days ago, it would no longer be recognized at boot up - I get the "Hard disk (3F0)" error. The SSD failed ALL possible diagnostic tests and it cannot be detected even after inserting it into an external SSD enclosure and plugging it into the USB port of another computer. The SSD came with a 3-year warranty so I contacted TEAMGROUP for a replacement. They responded that I should send it (at my expense) back to them for repair. I explained that I couldn't do that because the SSD contains very sensitive financial and health information. I offered, instead, to send to them a date-stamped video showing the intact (undamaged) SSD, and then the process of me drilling holes through it in order to destroy the data that I could not wipe because no longer accessible. They refused the offer and insisted that I send it back undamaged with the assurance that "our technicians do not access or copy any personal files stored on the drive." Of course, on their website they also say that "TEAMGROUP is not obligated to compensate for... stored data." I cannot risk compromising the safety of the data so this warranty is worthless to me and I'll eat the cost of this dud that died such an untimely death. I just ordered a Crucial SSD replacement and I'll stay away from TEAMGROUP in the future not only because of the questionable quality of their product but, most importantly, for their insensitivity and cavalier attitude about data safety and security.

Cant speak for the other comments, but for me it was doing pretty well the last 5-6 monts, I had no problems at all :)
