It’s impossible and the instructions don’t have pictures.** A: I had the same issue. What I found was, holding down the button on the side, taking off the tip, yiu have to push it hard into the gold piece. Then out the silver tip back on and release the button. It took me a bit to figure it out. **Q: Can the equipment cut glass?** A: It can cut glass in the sense of cutting out pieces of glass. But it can be used to cut small holes in the glass as you might need for a clock face done in glass. Use a standard glass cutter for cutting out pieces, or for getting glass to right size for a window. **Q: Can i use this on foam?** A: I don't see how this tool would work on foam. The tool spins and would twirl the foam and rip it. Wish power cord was longer ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‼️Important‼️ Know before you buy 👀 *by J***R on January 6, 2024* I tested out the product is soon as I got it. Here are some things that I noted. PROS -CAN BE USED WITH FRAGILE MATERIAL: I tested it on a Sandollar, which is pretty fragile and soft. On the lowest setting, I was able to carve designs without shattering the Sandollar, though it did take some structural damage in one spot. - CAPABLE OF SMALL DESIGNS - QUICK RECOVERY If the pen stopped working, it would run again if I turned it off, pushed the bit back into place, and turned it back on. - GREAT NAIL FILE The accessories for nail filing worked well on my natural nails. Have not tested it on acrylic nails. CONS - STOPS ITSELF OFTEN: Even though I wasn’t applying that much pressure for the Sandollar, the engraving pen would shut down because of overheating or the bit getting loose from the spinning. It shut down every 15 minutes more or less. - HAS TO BE PLUGGED IN TO WORK The pen has to be plugged into the wall the entire time. The cord is short, limiting mobility. NOTE: I haven’t tested the engraver on harder materials, such a stone or wood. So I don’t know if the pen would shut down more often when more pressure is applied. Also, it can be messy! Different materials will give off different amounts of residue.
