I bought this book for my dad when he was promoted to the Battery Manager Position at an automotive company and here is what he had to say:"Electrification of the automobile is here to stay due to the regulatory landscape, increased customer acceptance, and perceived climate change. This book is a must read for anyone considering a career in the field or desires to understand the complexity of the applied use of lithium ion batteries in modern vehicles. It is a well rounded book that covers the current state-of-the-art aspects of system integration of lithium ion cells and the associated battery management system. My department will include this textbook an an integral part of our employee training of System Engineers for Power Pack Units."

This book contains relevant coverage (although not a ton of detail) about all the necessary areas for BMS development. Although written in 2014, it still has adequate coverage of most areas that are necessary for building a good approach to design in 2022.

An impressive overview of many important topics in battery management.  The book is easy to read and navigate - very efficient material delivery (unlike many other references, especially online ones). The author really took the time to develop the content and is clearly an expert in this field.  Hope to see more references like this from this author!
