True, the remaining song is typically variations on those, but just be aware of what you're getting (this DVD is only 60 minutes]. His skill as a player & teacher - very good and enjoyable. His faithfulness to SRV's studio recorded versions - I say 96 percent. His faithfulness to SRV's style - 96 percent or more. His personality & jokes - they're fine. Likely what irritates some is, in the course of replaying his lesson as you practice, you also replay the same goofball comment 5, 10, 20 times, whatever. Future video instructors take note - no witicism survives that. This DVD compared to similar works: less plodding than Note4note, but less accurate. N4N may show finger positioning better. Greg moves faster and lighter than LickLibrary lessons (more informal and Greg uses an actual Fender Strat), but he's not as informative and slightly less faithful to SRV's exact fingerings as I sense LL's to be. I intend to buy another Greg Koch DVD. ### ⭐⭐⭐ review *by N***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 10, 2010* i thought this was good and most importantly it stresses the feel and intensity of the style. unlike a bb king style smooth and sweet this really gives you the feel of playing angry blues. i mean like beat your guitar style, sweat dripping from your forehead and cramps in your hand. unfortunatly though it doesn't have tabs to follow along because as good as greg is, he just doesn't really show you note for note in slow motion the way some of the other dvd's out there do. but then again, you really need to feel this music on your own because the penatonic scales are simple enough so there's nothing fancy going on. as i was copying his notes by slowing down the dvd, i realized i already played like that in regards to the notes just not as intense and the reverse bends trills were the difference. tabs would be nice though and some dvds email you the tabs to print out. you can always find them easy enough at a songster.com or other free sites for the intros that need to be note for note. all in all though its worth having. i own both of the srv dvd's and they are both the same pretty much. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stevie Ray Vaughan: Guitar Signature Licks (Greg Koch) *by B***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 12, 2008* I'm a huge SRV fan and was struggling trying to pick his style off his recordings. Even with tab in magazines and online I found it difficult to "nail-down" the nuances of his style. Enter Greg Koch via the Hal Leonard Guitar Signature Licks DVD series; just what the doctor ordered. From the outset Greg breaks down Stevie's style by demonstrating it on some of his most popular tunes. His virtuosity (no doubt partially due to his enormous hands!) and comedic style make for a great experience. I found myself handling the licks that I just couldn't get from tab and recordings alone. This is one of three instructional DVDs featuring Greg that I currently own and they have helped me learn the tunes I love and improve my overall skill level.
