Raincheck Universal Water Seal (5 Litre Clear) Breathable, Exterior Brick, Wood and Stone Sealer

I’ve a large elevation exposed to the prevailing westerly rains which over a few years have caused moss to grow on the mortar joints etc. I’ve cleaned all the moss off the wall using a wire brush, and then sprayed with this product. It goes on well, and the 2nd coat doesn’t soak in as much and gets some run off. This product isn’t cheap but it appears to be effective, any water appears to ‘bead’ and be repelled. I’ve also now coated both gable ends of this large detached house to cover the areas that get the rain. It should be a good preventative measure - ie. Reduce moisture ingress into surfaces, thereby reducing winter frost damage to mortars, etc., over time. Also, I’ve altered a standard 5L spray gun to extend the length of the spray lance by 2m (using a thin brass tube from b&q, and garden canes for lightweight strength), the result being I can now reach around 3m which is useful for applying at height up a ladder, etc. I’ve also now started doing a tiled house roof, removed the moss and am now in process of applying the product. Tips: Only apply to dry surface, no rain for 24 Hrs - otherwise you may waste your time and money. Wear face protection - it isn’t good to get this on your face, eyes etc. Clean windows/ledges promptly- it’s much more difficult to remove if left to dry on the glass/upvc.

This is my fourth purchase of water seal. It's a fantastic product, but there are 2 things to bear in mind, if you want it to work successfully. 1. Do not apply if rain is forecast in the next 24 hours. 2. Do not apply if it rained in the last 24 hours. So where has this worked brilliantly? 1. Masonary, stone walls from 1904, so its great to waterproof older houses. 2. New brick walls in the garden. 3. Stone walls in the garden, stone pillars. 4. Wood Fence in the garden. I was amazed to see it work so well on wood fencing. The second coat was literally running of the fence, which proved the first coat was working well. I won't paint wood furniture or fences in future, just waterproof them. Its very easy to apply, using a garden sprayer. If you can spray garden plants, you can spray water seal, as its just like white coloured water, but it has dramatic effects. Its so fast to apply. It takes me about 30 minutes to use up the 5 litres, and that includes outside garden walls, outside masonary and stone pillars, from 1900's. It dries clear, so is perfect for older houses, to water seal the pointing between the stones, and keep the vintage look of stone properties.

This is my 2nd purchase of this product. It really works and has stopped water ingress via brickwork, slates and small cracks in sealant. It’s very easy to apply using a garden sprayer (I would suggest a longish wand to ensure the liquid doesn’t blow back on you… you do become waterproof!). You see the water either sitting on the sprayed surface or running off and no longer soaking through. This has solved 90% of my new roof issues and some well placed lead/sealant did the rest.

Very very watery. It was dripping everywhere. Took 3 days (72 hours) to dry. Definitely keeps things water proof but becomes very hard to clean the item that is coated in this

Pretty easy to use and apply. Would not recommend to seal over acrylic paint though!! It still dries eventually but takes a good week or more. I used this for a vivarium rock wall as it's PVA (therefore should be non-toxic) which was made of grout and acrylic. It does give it a semi-waterproof seal but not water resistant. If you are like me and using this in a similar manner, I'd recommend leaving it to dry for at least a week before installation. I also used a hair dryer to blow-dry some areas which did help too. Allow to dry in a warm but well-ventilated area. Doesn't have a strong or terrible smell but air-circulation helps in drying.

This is a very thin product but it has good coverage and dries quickly. I used it on OSB board for loft flooring and am very pleased with the result. Photo shown is of one of the boards immediately post application. .

utilisé sur une terrasse en travertin de 60m2, ce produit a été mis très rapidement (et j'ai pu faire plusieurs couches). séchage rapide aussi et effets immédiatement visible tout en étant très discret. Effet déperlant mais aussi anti mousse. je ne peux me prononcer sur la longévité du produit (mis cet été) d'autant qu'il a été placé sur une surface où l'on marche beaucoup, mais pour l'instant les résultats sont plutôt bons
