In fact, I would say it is better to learn with. Compared to the Taylor hammer I learned on, it is way WAY easier to elicit any reflex with this hammer. The reason I would call it neuro specific is because it is less of a screening tool since you will be able to find almost any reflex that is there, even if it happens to be weaker. (So just be aware of this.)
