Love this Lotion and it DOES NOT break out my skin! Makes skin feel and look so much better.
Love this lotion and am hooked on it! I have never been able to use any lotion on my face or chest for long without it causing my skin to break out. A dermatologist recommended this to me - Actually two dermatologists. I have very dry skin, probably because I've always avoided using so many products due to all the breakouts. I purchased this in desperation, figuring I'd probably send this to the discard pile sooner or later along with all the other products I've wasted money on over the years. I've been using this for almost a year now, along with the Cerave PM and the Cerave Moisturizing Lotion in the Pump Bottle and the Cerave Moisturizing Cream in the jar. I use this AM and PM Lotion for my face and chest area and it does not cause my skin to break out! It actually has improved my skin because it's now soft and moisturized as it should be! (The only difference between the AM and PM is that the AM has the sunscreen in it while the PM doesn't have sunscreen so you can choose one or the other if you don't want to purchase both.) I now also use the Cerave Moisturizing Lotion in the pump bottle on my arms and legs and everywhere I need lotion. The Cerave Cream in the jar is wonderful too - a thicker, luxuriant version. I use that on feet, legs, arms, etc. This Cerave Face Lotion, as well as their other lotions and creams, are what I use now daily. They're great for sensitive, or break-out prone skin. They've been great for me for my facial moisturizer but they also worked wonders on some especially dry, irritated areas of skin on my hands and arms that were almost turning into eczema and psoriasis patches from reactions to everyday household cleaning products! The Cerave Facial lotions, both AM and PM, have the ceramides, niacinamides and HLA and it really softens and smooths my skin but it also makes the fine lines and wrinkles (on my not-so-young skin!) feel and look so much better! If you're prone to breakouts, or have Rosacea, or sensitive skin I would definitely recommend that you try this lotion. It's really been the answer for me.

Better than most at a bargain price!
This is a top of the line moisturizer that includes SPF 30. It feels great going on and does not irritate/burn my skin like some other moisturizers with sunscreens in them. I believe this may be due to the fact that it includes both physical and chemical sunscreens, so maybe my skin is getting a smaller dose of the chemical sunscreens. I think you could spend so much more at the department store and still end up with a sunscreen that cant match this one! I am cutting and pasting a review from beautypedia, which has great skin care product reviews for drug store and departments store brands. I always check there before purchasing "Joining CeraVe’s Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM is this daytime counterpart that includes an in-part zinc oxide sunscreen for reliable UVA protection. The formula has a lightweight lotion texture that feels elegant and wears well under makeup. Other than the sunscreen, the star ingredient in this daytime moisturizer is the cell-communicating ingredient niacinamide. This fragrance-free product also contains an impressive mix of skin-identical ingredients (ceramides and hyaluronic acid). The only thing holding it back from a higher rating is the lack of antioxidants; it is well established that adding antioxidants to sunscreens not only boosts the effectiveness of the sunscreen but also boosts your skin’s ability to fight the free-radical damage sun exposure causes. This is still worth strong consideration for its overall formula and affordability, but it doesn’t quite qualify as a best option. Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM SPF 30 is best for normal to slightly dry or slightly oily (combination) skin. It is a worthwhile option for blemish-prone skin, too."

Best Sunscreen Ever!
CeraVe is the little brand that could. I remember seeing the body cream and lotion at the drugstore several years ago, and wondering, "What the heck?" Never heard of it. But I looked at the labels and was gobsmacked. Fragrance-free, color-free, and skin-healthy ingredients. I don't think I have ever seen an advertisement for the CeraVe brand. (Edit: I saw a television commercial on January 14, 2012). All CeraVe moisturizers contain ceramides, as the name implies. The sunscreen is over the top, madly wonderful! It's effective, and contains antioxidants and excellent moisturizers in addition to ceramides. This is a light weight lotion that pumps (locking cap to preserve the antioxidants) easily, spreads and absorbs easily, and is absolutely weightless on the skin. It sets semi-matte, though it won't stay that way if you have oily skin. It's very easy to apply foundation on top of the sunscreen. This product doesn't roll or make your makeup smear. It's suitable for all ages, and suitable for men. On top of all those pluses, it's a bargain. You get three, not one to two, ounces of product for a great price. This one is a winner, five stars +!

almost perfect moisturizer. Love the SPF 30!
My first impression was the distinct smell of sunscreen. Well, I wanted SPF protection, and I got it. I just wasn't crazy about the strong scent. I've used other similar products from Olay and Aveeno and the sunscreen scent wasn't nearly as overwhelming with them. But I will forgive them for that, because beyond that, CeraVe is an excellent product. It absorbs quickly into my skin, and doesn't feel heavy and greasy like a sunscreen would. My skin is normal to dry in most parts, and CeraVe does a great job of providing extra moisture, while at the same time protecting my skin from the dry winter air of Colorado. I also was quite pleased that it didn't cause any irritation. Products with higher SPF can be a bit irritating but I didn't experience any redness or stinging with CeraVe. I've been using this lotion ever since the beginning of this winter and I feel like my skin is in better shape than it's ever been. I'm outside quite a bit and notice the difference. The higher SPF protects my skin from the glare of sun rays bouncing off the snow and the high quality moisturizers do their job in preventing my skin from being dried out by the high winds we get here. I also noticed that the one patch of skin on my face that tends to get red (due to an excision) has not shown any irritation this year and has essentially faded. I'd give CeraVe 5 stars for its great job of moisturizing and protecting my skin, but there are a few minor issues with this lotion - namely its strong scent and the less than ideal design of the bottle.CeraVe comes in a 3 ounce bottle with a pop-up dispenser lid. Its consistency is like that of a thick lotion, so sometimes it's a bit difficult to get the product out, requiring tapping or shaking to dispense it. I'd prefer to see it packaged with a pump-type dispenser. So for those reasons, I'm going with 4 stars.

Good Buy Expensive Moisturizes Hello Cera Ve
I was an Oil of Olay user and a acne suffer for many years. I had gone the gambit with dermatologist. Till I went to a dermatologist in my city that was old school. Believe it or not. I had cystic acne. I was allergic to most of the prescription medicines and had to treat topically. As I aged in my twenties I knew I had to take care of my skin. Not only did I have acne but I have Vitiligo just like Michael Jackson. Instead of treating the Vittilligo with lightening creams and spending my time in the sun. I use sun protection products that have been heavy. and I don't like that on my face because it would create acne. Or melt off into my eyes. So when she suggested I try the Cera Ve moisturizing cleanser and AM and PM. I was skeptical because I thought were treating the acne and the vitiligo I would have to live with. Cera Ve Am products gave me back my skin. I do still use Cetaphil for oily skin foam wash as well. But I gotta say my acne now has cleared up. I may get one or two every six months my skin has repaired itself thanks to Cera Ve not to mention it has been a great protector for the sun as well. I swear by it. Good bye Olay. Good bye expensive department store lotions. This lotion has given me back my skin and I have softer skin. And when your aging an people start getting wrinkles this is great. I haven't had wrinkles yet, but I think that is in part thanks to Cera Ve. Thanks Again.

Hands down, the best moisturizer I have tried . . . 05/31/2020 revision - no longer!!
There is a world of moisturizers out there, and it can be confusing to decide on one. Compounding this difficulty is the tendency of the industry to change formulations, or to discontinue good products. After years of trying moisturizers, this is simply the best I have tried. I am sensitive to ingredients in many moisturizers. This is no fault of those products, I simply happen to react to them. My eyes are particularly sensitive, and I can have watery eyes for the entire day when I encounter ingredients that don't work for me. This is the first moisturizer I have ever tried which includes a sunscreen (one of my must-haves for a good moisturizer) which hasn't caused some sort of issue for me. My skin has been healthier since I have used CeraVe, with no rashes, watery eyes, or breakouts. It does the job, very well. As with all allergies and sensitivities, YMMV - not all of us are sensitive to the same ingredients, and it is not the fault of the manufacturer when we are sensitive to ingredients in their products - we simply continue to search. The other product I love, except for the eye sensitivities, is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, available in a number of SPF strengths. My husband is in construction, and spends a lot of time out of doors - he uses the Neutrogena product daily, and is happy with it. Some are dismayed that the product is thick -- my tip for you is this: get one of your hands slightly wet, then pump the amount of moisturizer you need into your hand - rub your hands together, thinning the moisturizer with the little bit of water, and smooth it over your face. It will be easier to apply, and will dry quickly. It can't hurt to have your face slightly moist, as well, as when you have just washed your face. CeraVe is a rare bargain, with ingredients we don't normally find in moisturizers at this price - my only wish for improvement would be for a larger bottle, but perhaps the shelf life is such that it is better to buy this smaller bottle more frequently. I wouldn't know, because I liked this product enough that I used it daily until it was totally empty. 05/31/2020: This product simply isn’t the same since the maker was acquired by L’Oreal. It goes on very thick (far more so than previously - really impossible to work with), is difficult to distribute on the face, and tends to pill with application of makeup. I am, once again, on the search for a good SPF moisturizer that doesn’t make my eyes sting. Texture and ease of application are important.

Great daytime lotion
Despite the SPF 30 (fabulous!), this is a relatively lightweight and hydrating formula. It is heavier than the PM formula (due to SPF), and in comparison to something like basic Olay moisturizer, but not so heavy that it feels uncomfortable. In my case, it poses no problems under makeup, and even provides a pretty good base. There's no fragrance or other irritants. Ingredients that are beneficial to the skin are included, such as niacinamide, hyuralonic acid, ceramics, and glycerin. The SPF comes from physical blockers (e.g., zinc oxide), which is great. Some potential buyers may be concerned by the presence of very small amounts of parabens (they're near the end of the ingredients list), but there is NO valid, scientific evidence that these compounds are harmful (research it yourself if you don't believe me). Although 3 oz. seems a bit small for the price, I find the product to be worth it, and one upside of this size is that you can travel with it. The pump rotates to a locked position, also good for travel.

Effective, but leaves a white residue
I bought CeraVe's facial lotion due to its affordable pricing and the brand; I have used CeraVe's foaming facial cleanser in the past and loved it. I also purchased the PM version of this lotion. While this product appears to do a decent job at moisturizing my skin and protecting it from the sun, it tends to leave traces of a chalky white residue on some areas of my face, especially when I try to work/rub it in too much. To fix this, sometimes I just have to carefully rub the white residue off. I do not know why the white residue forms. It might be because I use a tretinoin cream in the morning (for combating acne), and maybe mixing them together causes this. I actually prefer Neutrogena's Rapid Tone repair over this product, but that one is more expensive and also comes in a smaller bottle. Neutrogena appeared to leave my skin looking more radiant, while CeraVe's lotion seems to only maintain my skin's normal appearance. Neutrogena's product also blended in more smoothly, without any residue. However, one advantage that CeraVe has is that when I am sweating in the sun, the moisturizer does not come off in white droplets. Neutrogena's lotion had this problem, and while it was not an issue in cooler weather, I prefer CeraVe for the summer. I will probably continue to use CeraVe due to its affordable pricing and good value. In terms of effectiveness, this cream is good, but not the best. I like the PM cream a lot more. I just wish that the AM cream went on my face more smoothly and invisibly.
