It's cheaper to buy a pice of leather (12x12 in my case) and attach it to metal or wood. I got about 3- 3"x8" strops, 1- 2"x8" and 1- 4"x12. I used a box cutter and a metal ruler to make my cuts and it came out great.For the actual leather, it's firm, thick and in great condition. My only beef (haha) is that the leather isn't cut estraight and it's just shy of the advertising length. It wasn't quite 12"x12", roughly 11 5/8" which isn't a problem for me but if your looking to cover that exact area for your project then you need to go bigger and cut to length.
