So we get more detailed explanations on how Edward ended up where he was at the start of the game, and what his friends and family were like, such as Caroline, his mother and father.The book also explains how a notorious criminal/pirate like Edward, ends up with the means and resources he has at the beginning of Forsaken. The game never quite explains that, and I had a hard time excepting a pirate could blend into society like that without question. This book explains how.The book does have some typos in a few places, and the descriptions of some characters don't quite match up with the game (such as Edward wearing a Tricorne) But I suppose that comes with writing a book before the game is released. Video Game novels reveal what a character is thinking in events you played in the game, and this is no different, such as what Edward thinks about the voluptuous Anne Bonny when she is around.Great book for Assassin's Creed fans. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delightful book full of adventure and Piracy, without even playing the Assassins Creed Black Sails game. *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2018* I'm not a game player by any means, but I was drawn to the AC legend of Captain Kenway from a friend's recommendation on historical semi-fiction on piracy and the Caribbean islands. This book will not disappoint but delight and keep you riveted until the end. Maybe a little less graphic description of the killings and a little more description of Kenway's inner romantic, but a quality read, I promise. ### ⭐⭐⭐ A serviceable adaptation *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2014* As the first book I've read in this series of adaptations of the video games of the same name, it is a respectable retelling of the game's main storyline, with only a small handful of additional insights into the story. The Assassin's Creed games are basically historical fiction, and this tale takes an entertaining look into the golden age of piracy.
