I used to use one of these for pulling wires when I was working in electronics. Recently I got Invisaline braces for my teeth. They fit very tightly over your teeth and you have to remove them to eat and then replace them afterward. In doing some tile installation in my house I broke off all of my fingernails and was unable to remove the braces. I was trying to use forks and anything else I could find. Then I remembered these hooks so I found them on Amazon and they worked great. The hook at one end aids in pulling down on the top braces and the little fork at the other end can easily lift the lower ones from your teeth. They worked so well that my dentist asked me for the ordering info so she could order some for other patients having this problem. they also can help with putting the rubber bands on the traditional braces as it is very difficult to get your fingers to the back of your mouth to apply them.

I used one of these at work. It came in very handy when used on springs. Since I got this, it still works great. I even use it to help me to latch my medical bracelet. Good buy.

I worked for IBM my whole career, starting out repairing hardware. We used these spring hooks for everything from pawl springs on typewriters to pulling out broken starter brushes on 57 Chevy's. An essential tool for typewriter work, these hooks are pretty good. They're not hardened steel, so you can bend the hook end if you try to get frisky with it in non-spring applications, unlike the old IBM spring hooks that are hardened and bomb-proof, you need to be a little gentler with these. The knurled grip is great - the length is perfect - the 'push' end works well. I am very pleased.
