Works Great
Good price (less than $100) and works surprisingly well. I used 50 lbs. in cinder blocks for weight and it pulled up a lot of thatch. Rather than sweeping the lawn after dethatching I mowed right after and than swept so I wouldn't have to sweep twice. Worked great. Seems to be well made. Assembly wasn't overly difficult and it's small so doesn't take up much storage space. It's a good investment and nice addition to my landscaping equipment.

Works good, a little flimsy with weight on it.
Got the job done. Seems a little flimsy with weight on it, the handle flex's all over the place. But overall its good, works good.

Good tool
This tow behind dethatcher has worked as expected for me, though the assembly did take a while. Parts are all good quality and this hasn’t failed me yet. Biggest complaint was that I struggled assembling it, but all in all a great tool to have for the yard.

Great For Larger Lawn Areas
We have about 20,000 SQFT of lawn that needs to be renovated and I looked into renting or buying a lawn dethatcher and after checking the prices I began to search online and I found this device for our riding lawn mower. Assembly was very easy with the help of and impact driver and socket set. It took me about an hour to assemble the unit. I was not missing any bolts and everything assembled very easy. Make sure you read the directions as when you first hook this unit up to your lawn mower it will not be adjusted correctly. You have to loosen the main bracket bolts on the back and then it will sit level with the ground. I attached to cinder blocks for weight and went to town on my middle lawn which is 6,000 SQFT. Boy was I happy to have this contraption. It pulled up a ton of thatch and moss in a minimal amount of time. For the price this is a great unit and if you store it inside it should last many seasons. I am super happy with this Agri Fab Dethatcher.

If you love wasting time and energy, this is the product for you!
I have 2 acres and my lawn needed some detaching. Reviews for this were decent so I ordered it. Packaging was beaten up and retaped. The base was pretty scratched, but considering how this is gonna be used, that wasn’t a big deal. The metal on this thing is thin and cheap. The engaging handle is so thin in bends and deforms easily. Installation took about 30 minutes. Instructions were okay, but could be better. I noticed no good places to secure pavers or concrete blocks with rubber cords. The sides have no lips to keep blocks from sliding off. I attached it to my zero turn and it was incredibly frustrating to try and use. This thing bounces so much. I tried adding paver bricks to steady it as the manual suggested. At slow speeds the bungee corded Pavers kept coming off the platform because it still rocked and bounced so much. The hard plastic wheels also does not do this crappy product any favors. I tried adding a bit more weight with concrete blocks. Still rocked and jumped even with the mower going at a snails pace. Also frustrating, trying to engage and disengage with that thin engauger. It warped and bent. It ended up taking me nearly 4x as long to do my yard as it did to aerate it. Look else where for a company that has a clue on how to manufacture a decent dethacher.

Parts for your DIY project
Three stars because like many reviews I DIYd it to get it to work and it can work. Missing bolts on arrival, many reviews note missing parts. This was an easy fix. My favorite part of assembly was to put a screw driver in the slot to bend the tab to hold the tine. Good news is the plate is so sturdy that screw driver unable to bend it, along w the screw driver can fit but at an opposite angle needed to bend the tab. So sturdy a plus, functionality zero. The whole design w the arm to raise and lower the tines is based (I guess) on the idea that the hitch height is perfect for this, mines not. Did I get it to work? Yes. Does it de thatch well? Yes My solutions. Placed a sledge hammer head under the plate and took a hammer to beat the tabs over the tines. No loose tines. Took off that raise lower arm all together. Now the tunes drag well in grass. The down side of this is I just can’t pull it anywhere other than on the grass because it’s always dragging.

Impressive
It took a bit trying to get the metal around the tines. I finally figured out where to place the screw diver to get it to bend up. I was so pleased to see the thatch coming up. My next purchase will be a lawn sweeper.

Good but not fantastic, worth the money though
Shipped quickly. All parts were included. Quality of parts seems pretty good for the price. Instructions are horrible, most kids could draw better. And i know my way around a wrench. Assembly took an hour cause of the instructions. No written instructions, just a picture sheet. Having to bend tabs to lock the tines into place seems cheesy but they seem to hold in lace pretty well. Comes with 2 thin metal rods to weave through each line of tines and tie off on each end, that way if one falls off it wont be lost. The height lift system is the weak point. It is not sturdy feeling and only has one "L" bracket to hold it in place on the "axle", has room for another one on the opposite side and already has pre drilled slots. I looker over the part list and i was not missing that part. Overall for $120, it will get the job done and hold up for several years if stored inside. If your wanting to rely heavily on this i suggest you dont. Go ahead and build one for the same price and have it 3x as sturdy. Will update once i have used it a few times. 03/02/16 UPDATE 03/03/16 - i have used it several times today and it performs really well, you need straps to hold the weight on (neither are included). It does end up getting clogged up after a few minutes but thats only when running over ground already thatched. Sometimes it gets a back and fourth hop to it which would be fixed if the wheels were wider and spread out more. The wheels do collect dirt and mud and seem to not help much. In the lifted position it still is not high enough o be practical. With weight on the thatcher it is hard to lower and lift it, mainly cause of the flimsy lift handle. I plan on upgrading it soon and adding larger wheels, and buying rubber bungy hooks to keep the blocks from moving. Will update further if problems appear.

Good product, does.the job.
Very good product, good quality, does exactly what the video showed it would do. Assembly instruction aren't great but it is relatively easy to figure out. Mine arrived on time but had 3 tynes missing, which may have had something to do with the damaged shipping package. I called Agri-Fab and they sent out replacement tynes right away. I'm a happy customer!
