Excellent coffee! Very fresh.

This is a solid ground coffee, but I recommend using it within 2 to 3 weeks of opening. Compared to other ground coffees I've tried, this one loses its flavor much faster, and you can definitely notice the smell start to change after a couple of weeks. That said, the taste is really good while it's fresh. It's smooth, reliable, and easy to find at most grocery stores. It's my go-to whenever I can't get my hands on freshly roasted specialty coffee.

If your looking for a dark roast for these Illy beans are great!

I love this coffee and I love Amazon because I was able to find the drip dark roast grind for the same price as local vendors and with no extra shipping costs when using Amazon Prime. Illy coffee is featured at the Culinary Institute of the Arts in St. Helena, CA (that's in Napa Valley), which is where I got "hooked" on it. It is consistently delicious! I use it with a highly rated drip coffee maker that has perfectly regulated water temp. All the merchants in my area, including several Williams-Sonoma stores, were sold out of the drip dark roast for weeks and I live in a major metropolitan city! I checked Amazon and voila, found a great vendor offering this coffee in a pack of six! Within a few days I had a supply of a little more than 3 lbs of coffee, which will last me for a couple of months. I liked that I could purchase multiple cans, providing a little bit of savings when compared to buying just 1 can at a time. Each can is vacuum sealed and also has use by dates for the freshest coffee. Although this coffee is expensive, it is worth it to me! Simply the best!

This is a good tasting coffee. It's supposed to be a grind compatible with drip, French press and pour over, which would be a medium to medium fine grind, this one however is a fine to very fine grind. This makes it difficult to obtain an optimal extraction. Illy should know better. This grind is much better suited for espresso. As such, I've deducted one star, and I deducted another star for the price being a bit higher than it should.
