Had delivered today. Put in place within 5 minutes. The front is adjustable but not the sides so measure carefully. Great value for the money. With painting the old mantle piece and removing old beading and replacing with this fender has transformed the fireplace

I ordered this fender to cover a brass trim on my hearth tiles. My hope was that it would sit over the hearth as an edging but unfortunately it is solid so it basically sat against the hearth and you could still see the brass trim so it defeated the purpose of the purchase for me. It's a lovely fender, good quality for the price but I think it's important to mention that it won't sit over the hearth for anyone else buying it for this reason. I had to return.

Item arrived with missing finials which annoyed me enough - contacted via email via here and heard nothing, but rang them and to be fair, the phone was answered quickly and the lady was really helpful and I received the missing finials within 24 hours. Both myself and my husband (who's a trained senior engineer) have tried to put this together so that it's not likely to fall apart at the slightest knock but the threads on the actual finials are too short to actually anchor it together and the black paint also stains very quickly with fingerprints! It's currently held together very precariously and looks nice so long as nobody goes near it (which won't happen as we have dogs who will inevitably knock it). Really can't be bothered contacting again or sending the thing back so my husband is going to replace the threads in the finials. Seriously wish I'd never bought it!

There are a lot of conflicting reviews of this fender, some good and some bad. Well, I can tell you it's not bad at all. It's not flimsy as some report. The finish is not perfect but good enough. Your guests will need to get on their hands and knees to spot the imperfections. It fits my fire place very well and looks like it belongs there. I have another fender purchased about ten years ago. It cost more than twice the price of this one but looks cheap by comparison. I would say this is good value and will be ordering another.

Arrived in great time. Good for the price but it's a bit flimsy...nothing to keep it together when it's set up but I'd recommend it for the price!!
