So, I've been using it every day, for about a month, usually putting it on first thing in the morning and before bed. And sometimes before and after my daily 30 minute walk. There are so MANY uses for coconut oil - skin softener, diabetes, hypertension, etc. If you are looking for some basic information about coconut oil BUY THIS BOOK. I'm waiting for my next book by the same author, Eat Fat, Look Thin. It should be here Monday. I hope you find this book as helpful as I did!! Good for what ails you internally and externally I just wish I had read this book years ago so I could tell others as well as myself the benefits of coconut. I am very pleased with what I had read and have been using coconut more and more in my daily lifestyle. Today is the first day using the oil to moistuize my body after showering. I have been using it as an addative in my decalf coffee and using it in cooking and frying. I'v also used it in a couple of cookie recipes, macaroons which I love and oatmeal I've also used it this last weekend for my homemade granola which turned out great. I was going to make a pie tonight and I usually use a 1/3 cup of vegetable oil in the crust but will try a 1/3 cup of coconut oil instead.

great book
There was so much positive information in this little book. I was completely taken by suprise by the healing properties of this tropical fruit/nut. Love this gem of a book
I read this book and switched to only cooking with Coconut oil and Olive oil. I fry with coconut oil and it does not burn like Olive Oil. My HDL went way up and my over all number went way down. I was amazed by all the stories in this book. I have used coconut oil on my bruises and cuts and it has helped. I also use it as a make up remover...and my cat who is blind in one eye loves it as well and demands it in the am and before bed. It helps his coat and he has seizures due to he only has half a brain ( we did an MRI) and it has helped him reduce his meds...along with a high protein diet. This book is a great resource and I highly recommend reading this book and keeping it for reference. Coconuts have so many uses its wonderful. I also buy my organic coconut oil from Amazon.

Help you to take charge of your health
I know that there are other books so that I cannot say that this is the best one. However, it is an excellent book since it answers most question that you may have in mind, especially the negative ones. It provides actual data where it is needed so that you can analyze the data for yourself.

Very informative and I am a believer in Coconut Oil!
It was very informative. I am giving it a 60 day try and seeing if I can tell the difference on what it does for the body. I have been doing the oil pulling for over a month. I have sinus problems that seem to only happen at night and since I have been Oil pulling I do not have a clogged up nose or sinus draining. I sleep like a baby and do not wake up at all during the night. So that is one thing I have been noticing. If that is all it did for me that would be one #1 giving it a 5 star. I also started 5 days ago on just drinking one tsp of coconut oil daily. Not sure if it does anything for cholesterol so fast but just had my blood test and it went down to 157 from over 250 which is the lowest ever. All the other LDL< HDL< etc... all are improved dramatically. I am now using it as body oil after I shower and it is amazing. Skin is really soft and my liver spots are fading on my hands. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in knowing more about Coconut pulling or healing. Good Luck.

I think more people need to learn about young virgin coconut water. Must refrigerate and keep in a sealed glass container. it equals blood plasma but for it is a bit higher in potassium chloride and lower in sodium chloride. These are husked with the green shells off and look like a light beige and are shrinkwrapped in stores. They come from Asian countries on Frozen Shipping Containers. Do not buy if pink or mouldy or especially you see them darker as they they are almost a month old. They used these in past wars in Carribbean countries and when our troops were out of plasma they ran an IV up to the unopened virgin coconut(s) and used it for up to six days or more for our servicemen and women. It brings up all the levels in your blood work..Get Bruce Fifes book Coconut Water for Health and Healing. I got that data from the book. Drink one a day and you can get 12-16 ounces of fresh sweet healing water. Open and create a punched hole in the flat end and place the pointed tip into a large soup cup to hold coconut. Dip a Phillips head screwdriver in pure white or apple cider vinegar to scrub tip clean and punch a clean and widen it open so air gets into it and no do not pour it till hole very wide or all the juice will flow onto and in the pulp. also you can put a straw in the hole and suck it out that way if just for yourself,

Untill a little while ago I had never heard of coconut oil. Of course I knew about coconuts, water, dissecated and milk but I had never heard about the oil. Maybe because it is not widely used here in Europe. After joining a site called earthclinic.com I started to get interested in coconut oil but I was afraid to use it because of all the bed publicity saturated oils have had for many years. In order to use it in my cooking I was needing a bit more information so after quite a bit of research I decided to try this book and I found it a great book. I do agree with someone commenting here that the bad health of islanders can't only be due to the fact that they stray from a coconut diet as well as their good health can't have only been because they adered to it, there are many more factors but still the book encouraged me to try. I have to say that my body doesn't react to coconut oil the way most people seem to react, I now have constipation which I didn't have before but the good thing is that you can contact the writer and ask him for advice. I have only started a little while ago, let's see how it goes! This book is well written, something which is not always the case with health related books, doesn't have many repetitions and it is very informative. I was going to buy the Cocnut Miracle but after reading a comment here I decided that this one would be more useful as it also gives advice on other coconut products. It talks about a number of health problems and how coconut oil and other products could help as well as beauty tips. I was also glad that the author didn't cram the book with all kinds of recipes as one can get those easy online if one doesn't have them already and he has a cookery book with those recipes anyway. It is always annoying when authors fill a book with recipes instead of the information you need. I don't mind a few special recipes but well, what I was after was information on coconut products! Now the summer is approaching I will try the oil on my skin in order to get a healthy tan and also against insect bites! If you are unsure about using coconut oil it is really worth reading! Too bad that we are ruled by high interests instead of researchers just telling you what is really good for you. I notice that people are more and more uncertain about what is good for their health and not and that is not a good thing! It time people's interests start coming before the interest of big multinationals especially when it comes to health!

A wonderful overview of th e benefits of adding coconut oil to one's diet ...Dr. 'Coconut' is not only veresed in the nutritional science behind the use of coconut addition to one's diet but he also presents much folk wisdom in the use of it..... a wonderful read ....
