Conair EZ Press 800 Watt Handheld Steam Iron

This iron is perfect for my craft and sewing needs. My normal sized iron was too heavy and large for working on small pieces and quilt blocks. It does not shut off, stays hot and ready. Just don’t forget to unplug after you finish using it. I seen quilt bloggers using a similar iron, one that costs 3 x more than this one and you have to squeeze a button on each side of the iron to make it steam. I have a small hand with arthritis, I was turned off by the idea of squeezing the buttons. Get this cute little iron, it’s small and light. Easy to fill. So far I haven’t had any problems with water dripping. It’s worth every penny!

I bought this because my steam station takes a long time to heat up, and the iron on it is heavy. This little iron is just right. It heats up within seconds and does a great job ironing the small quilting seams. The steam is a little awkward, but it does the job. The only not so nice thing is, that it has no automatic shut off. I unplug it when not in use, because the temperature dial is a little difficult to turn for me. I just started using it and hope the iron will last me a long time.

I purchased this iron to use next to my sewing machine along with one of those square 12x12 mats that are used with the hot vinyl transfer press machines. It heats up quickly and doesn't use much space. It is not as powerful as my regular iron but if I use steam it gets the job done. Mine does not leak unless I put water in past the over fill line or I have the steam dial in the "on" position when I plug the iron in. Be sure the steam dial is in the off position and the temperature dial is turned down to low when you plug it in. This iron doesn't have an on/off switch. You turn the temperature dial up and down to turn the heat up/down. Always turn the temperature dial to low and unplug the iron when you are finished using it as it is not really off when you turn the temperature down. This is a quality iron with a few minor flaws mentioned above. It has enough wattage to do the job I need it to do which is press small pieces of cloth and seams. When searching for a small iron please consider the wattage of the iron. The higher the wattage, the more powerful and hotter the iron. I would consider this one of the higher wattage portable irons.

My original iron was confiscated in a cruise and I was too lazy to retrieve it. I ordered and returned 3-4 mini irons before I found this one and it's perfect! It's big enough to do some serious ironing. It gets very hot, gives off lots of steam and the water reservoir stays filled for a long time. It's small enough to fit the clamshell bag I made to carry it in for quilt retreats. I really like it and definitely recommend it.

Just received this little travel iron that I purchased for my sewing room. It is just what I was looking for: small, no auto shut off, good steam, and glides well over fabric. The cord is well placed and doesn't knock the iron over while standing on end. I am impressed with the steam that it emits. Granted it only holds a little water, but when testing the iron, I got a nice crease in folds of fabric and pressed out wrinkles well. Thank you to all who answered my questions about this iron. Granted, I just received the iron, but I will come back and report if the iron fails. This iron would travel well. If you need a little iron next to your sewing machine, I would highly recommend the EZ Press by Conair (so far).

I bought this iron to use for quilting in early April of this year. It worked great, until it didn't. Just the right size, stayed on, did a decent job of getting out wrinkles. Then I noticed it was not working as well last week, and when I put my hand to it, it was barely warm. Very disappointed that it only lasted barely 4 months. Guess I'll have to order a different model and hope it works better than this little Conair.

Just ordered my second iron after testing the first one. I quilt & like to have a small iron to take on retreats & one next to my machine to press as I sew. What I like about this iron is it gets hot but not too hot, & it does not have any coating on the iron face. After quickly having a problem with several small irons leaving marks on my sewing from the coating rubbing off, my next iron wasn't going to have any coating. I do have to be mindful not to unplug the iron before I turn it off - per the iron instructions. I don't use steam so can't speak to that. This iron does what I want very well.

This iron kind of works considering the price, but it hardly gets big wrinkles out and did not properly crease the fabric I am working with in my sewing. Even on the highest setting, it only blinks on for maybe 8 seconds and then starts to cool off again. It's also very small so better for sewing than steaming lots of clothes probably. I'm returning it and I did not try the steam function. Im giving it 3 stars instead of 1 because it technically works, but I'm going to spend an extra $10 to get something that's worth having.

Love size , heat level perfect and also steam. Great for sewing projects when going away this size is perfect .

This little iron is perfect for the little jobs. Super lightweight but gets the job done. Love how hot it gets and that it has steam as well.

The markings on the hot side of the temp dial have disappeared, but works like a dream for pressing patchwork blocks. Leaking after six months. Expected better from this brand and for $45
