Review: Great Brand, Great Price, Great Binoculars - We have had a pair of Bushnell binoculars, very similar to this pair, for over 30 years and they are still amazing and offer everything we need to watch the birds and wildlife in our area. We recently purchased a second home in a different state so the bird species and wildlife in the area are different and worth exploring. There is nothing worse than wanting to investigate wildlife and not having the tools to do so. After 9 months of this, I ordered these binoculars for my husband as a Christmas gift and he was thrilled. I went with Bushnell because of the brand name, and never even considered going with anything else. The Bushnell Falcon's are exactly like our tried and true old pair, offering the same excellent focus features and magnification. We have become very used to utilizing the "insta-focus" system, which also allows you to fit the eyes pieces of the binoculars to your individual eye width. We like the size and weight of this pair since they are easy to hold comfortably in even my smaller hands, and they are easy to find if they are ever misplaced or not hanging from their designated rack (smaller binoculars just don't work for our lifestyle). The strap is fully adjustable, very comfortable, and made of cloth, unlike our older pair that has a plastic strap. The case is, meh, just ok. I did not get these for the case and we won't be using it except if we take the binoculars on our travels so I'll hang onto it to offer a little protection to the binoculars if they end up traveling in a suitcase. Overall, this is a great pair of binoculars. It's nice to know you still can't go wrong with Bushnell products.
Review: good quality for good price - I bought the Celestron 15-30 zoom field glasses (~$125) to complement a wide field of view binocular which has since disappeared. The evaluations of the Celestron were correct that it was great for distance viewing but the very heavy which got old quickly. I got these to complement those and could not believe the price for the quality. Key features are the wide field of view and fast / easy focusing. It has the quality I expected for something with a brand name like Bushnell, but it clearly doesn't have the performance of a ~$2-300 marine binocular or a high end birding binocular. And I still haven't decided if the focus point of the 2 imaging systems remains constant with distance meaning you have to do a diopter correction at each distance, or if I am demanding too much out of an intermediate grade binocular, or if my eyes are just screwed up. But $40 is a pretty low price for this much high tech. And I read someone complain about the case. The case that came with this (versus the one I bought years ago) is an order of magnitude better. Not the highest quality but pretty good for a case included effectively for free.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this set of Binoculars come with Lens cups for protection?**
A: Had this set in my storage for years. Finally opened them up and the first thing i noticed was the lens protective cups where completely useless. They will not stay on even with normal movement.

**Q: does this set of binoculars come with a strap and case?**
A: Yes, they come with a case, strap, lens caps, and a lens cleaning cloth. They are a fine pair if binoculars. I purchased 10 of them for my passengers to use on a Mississippi Riverboat to watch the nature unfold on the banks and couldn't be happier with the product and quality. We are in our second season with them and I haven't had a single problem one!

**Q: We're going to use these for only backyard birding, but I noticed that these new binocs have a "close focus" of 25 feet. Is that normal?**
A: "Normal" depends on your typical use. If you typically will be watching birds that are not closer than 25 feet they will be fine. Birds closer than 25 feet will be out of focus. Most of the better "bird watching" binoculars have a close focus of 12 feet or less.

**Q: are these good for a thousand yards target shooting?**
A: No. I don't believe any big buck spotting scope could do it. I've shot 1000 yard NRA sanctioned matches. Spotters in the pits below the targets put a large marker on the target and that you can see with a very good quality spotting scope,if the mirage is not too bad. At a 1000 yards a car would be a speck with these binoculars.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ These are not bad for $35, if that's your budget I would recommend them
*by R***D on July 22, 2020*

With all optical instruments, including binoculars, you get what you pay for. That said, these are actually not bad for routine viewing. Just don't pretend that they are the equal of a $250 or $2000 set, and set your expectations accordingly. They are quite sharp and clear, and if you don't have a $2000 pair that you are comparing back and forth to, they are entirely adequate for normal 10x viewing needs. I just last night and this whole week was looking at Comet NEO-something in the western night sky, here in Arizona, and the quality of the image was very good. Not as good as a $3000 pair of Zeiss binocs, but, hey, $35 lets me see this comet right up close with excellent night viewing and no rainbows or distortions. The spectacle was so gorgeous that I stayed out for 30 minutes, when I normally just look for 5 or 10. Visible without the binoculars, but OMG, once you see it at 10x, you are mesmerized. I also looked at Jupiter's moons (the largest four "Galilean" moons) with these, and I could totally see them, tiny pinpricks of light in a line across the brilliance of Jupiter's full face, at its closest point to Earth right now. I've seen the moons with better optics, and I can agree that they can be clearer with a $250 or higher pair, but still - I can see them just fine with this $35 pair of binocs. I saw them last night, and took my daughter out and showed her. Based on her level of excitement, I will be buying her a pair of 10x50s, and I will probably spring for the extra $100-200 for her present, since she'll be using them for <everything>. These are fine for common use, but a nicer, better quality set would certainly be preferred as a gift, since it reflects the regard in which you hold the recipient... Anyway, 4 stars because I've used and owned better, but I definitely recommend these as a first set, or if your budget is under $50.
