Let's see... Kristin Ess: burned my hair (and with my hair texture, that's hard to do), LivChic: plates weren't tight enough and my hair just slipped through, Landot: didn't grip well and even at 1" was just too darn big for short hair, Terviiix: not smooth, hair gets caught and yanks out.I practically lived at the UPS Store, as I was constantly returning irons.I wouldn't have looked twice at this little cheap thing except that it was made by Jinri.I have a Jinri blow dryer brush and I love it. It has a 1-1/4 inch barrel and is perfect for drying/styling short hair. Got it here on Amazon and highly recommend!Anyway, because it was made by them, I went ahead and tried it.I love it! The heat is a good temperature (not adjustable, but hot enough to work without frying your hair), and even though it's considered travel-size it's the perfect size to work with short hair. It can get close to the scalp and not burn your skin. It's solidly built and has a long, rotating cord. It comes with 2 alligator clips and is attractively packaged in a nice box. It's quality would easily compete with high-end, more expensive irons. I used a reg blow dryer to get my hair almost fully dry, applied a good quality hair serum and then used my new Jinri.
