Scotch Thermal Laminator, 2 Roller System for a Professional Finish, Use for Home, Office or School, Suitable for use with Photos (TL901X)

Took delivery of this laminator 20 minutes ago. Plugged it in and turned on the power with the 3mil lamination pouch setting selected....which is the thickness of the accompanying lamination pouch samples. I am guessing it took around 3 minutes to heat up, which was acceptable. Why people complain about the heat-up time is a mystery to me....no different than any heat dependent device such as toasters, coffee makers, ovens, etc. People unrealistically expect 'instant everything' these days. Once the 'ready' light popped on, I slid an 8.5" X 11" standard paper document into one of the 3 mil sample pouches....taking care to fully seat it against the 'hinged' bottom of the pouch. I also ensured that it was slid into the pouch centered from 'side-to-side.' Finally, I simply aligned the document encased in the laminating pouch, hinge side first, to the laminator opening, centered left-to-right of the opening and and then slowly and squarely fed it into the laminator until the interior rollers grabbed the document and pulled it in. The laminator gently grabbed hold of the document, and slowly fed it through the unit. I noticed that the rollers kept the document aligned perfectly through the center of the roller space...so it must be self aligning for the most part. The laminated product came out the other end in seconds, and it was perfectly laminated with no wrinkles, bubbles, or other obvious defects. I think the people that complain about 'jams' or 'wrinkles' must be inserting the documents into the machine crooked, angled, or aligned to one extreme side of the laminator opening. My 1st lamination project produced flawless results and at this juncture I am very pleased and confident to award it a personal 5 star rating

The Scotch Thermal Laminator works excellently. I did not have any issues with using the device. The heating up time was one minute, and I put 60 pages through and had no jamming issues. It is small and easy to store and carry around, making it a great addition to my office. I used 3mm laminate paper, and there were no wrinkles, and it was the perfect thickness. However, it is a little slow to laminate, but that was not an issue for me since I put the pages in the laminator as I put one through the machine.

A must have for teachers or other people who need to laminate ID card or another item.

I had low expectations, when I had to replace my older and long-lasting beloved laminator, whose brand evades me at the moment, but it is a common brand. I'm quite impressed by this little unit and hope it lasts as long as my last one!? It does a great job with nary a wrinkle, my only complaint is it seems to take forever to warm up especially on the 5 mm setting, which I typically use. But I've gotten used to that, as I just turn it on while I'm gathering up my materials, so it's ready by the time I am. It does such a great job I can't complain too much, plus I don't have to use a protector sheet, so I don't have to keep buying those all the time, since they don't last forever.

This laminator has been a great little purchase! There was literally no setup involved—just take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on, and let it heat up for a few minutes. It’s very simple and easy to use, even for beginners. I’ve laminated several items so far, and it has worked perfectly every time without any jams. The laminations come out smooth, clear, and professional-looking. For the price, I’m really impressed with the quality and performance. Unfortunately I can't use! It's a U.S. Plug and it works with 120v 60hz 400w and 2,2 A. Nothing was mentioned. But even, the supplier could inform us and propose us a solution...........
