Excel Aluminium Folding Hop Up Platform Work Bench 600mm x 600MM Pack of 2

Really nice well made Aluminium DIY step-up platform at a good price (it was £57 when I bought it June 2025). Amazon does list cheaper as well much more expensive work platforms, but the attraction of this one is that the standing top surface is noticeably wider than most at 60cm. That extra width makes it safer when you need to shift the position of your feet whilst reaching up to do overhead work. For me, doing DIY jobs in the house, including some really heavy jobs at times, this platform is adequately strong and stable enough to feel fully reassuring. If you are a professional builder then you might want to pay several times the price for something supposedly more heavy-duty, but as I say – I find this one ideal for my use. It's also quite light weight and folds away nicely when not in use. Very nice and very useful safe product.

Perfect, im 5ft and could reach the ceiling without stretching. Not sure this would work as well if your taller or have higher ceilings.

Bit pricey but I do use it a lot for lots of different jobs around the place like decorating and cleaning tops of cupboards with its wide platform I feel more confident but as with anything you still must take care where you place your feet.

I'd have given 5 stars were it not for 2 annoyances. 1) The legs are so tightly bolted it needs effort to open them to their working and safe position. 2) The Safety Latches are very crudely manufactured and not fitted very well. Every time I have used the platform I've waited for the thin springy thing to fly off rendering the latch not as safe. It hasn't happened yet but it feels like it is inevitable that it will. The crude safety latch assembly, combined with a need to lay the platform on its side to open the legs means you could scratch laminate or vinyl flooring. It should be as easy to set up as a pair of step ladders-but it isn't. As mentioned, the hinge bolts are way too tight to open the platform the 'easy way' of platform horizontal, pull one leg assembly down, latch it locked and repeat for the other leg. I will still recommend it because I felt safe thanks to its sturdiness and decent quality materials used. The platform has a large surface area so if you are working safely you shouldn't need to worry about slipping off the edge* *I am not responsible if you do. Work Safely is the order of the day.

Sturdy item

I found that this a great height to be working whether or not cleaning windows or installing equipment 600 x600 a nice safe size to have for a good safe working experience . The usage is boundless in the home and at work indeed

I'd definitely buy if you're planning on going up in the world, then back down again.It's called a Hop Up but I'd recommend stepping up carefully instead of using the hopping method suggested in the name.

Bought this 5 weeks ago and its already broken, the brackets that support the hop up have snapped in 3 places, ive tried screwing it back together but now its unsafe. **Update** it finally died today, lasted less than 2 months, ive attached pictures, avoid this brand
