They are 6", 8", 10", and 12" in diameter, and are 2" deep.

why do recipes almost burn in coated bread pans especially?

I never use coated pans so I can't specifically answer your question. No matter what, unless otherwise stated, any pan should be at the very least greased. Most will call for flour or corn meal as well. As far as these cake pans, I greased with shortening and floured the pans and had no problem getting cakes to come out.

Are the side of the pans straight or slightly slanted?

The sides of the pans are straight. I own two sets of these pans and use them frequently with great results.

Do those pans have any kind of non-stick coating?

no it doesnt have any kind of non sticking coating but you have to grease and flour the pan so that the cake doesnot stick OR line with baking parchment paper.I find wilton pans very good.
