do the ones called glow and nite glo actually glow in the dark?

yes although the actual light-up discs are much better for night frisbee, the glow isn't super bright

I like to do a bounce off the ground from the asphalt. My last frisbee is just shredding off its plastic and becoming more sharp. Does it do the same?

Yes. Asphalt is stronger than plastic. You’re not just “bouncing” the disc, you’re spinning it at a high rate of speed and then allowing it to grind up against the asphalt (highly abrasive) for a brief moment every time you throw it that way. While it might be fun, it is 100% destructive and will eventually ruin your disc - no matter which one you get. If you’re dead set on using this style of throw, find the cheapest disc around and buy a dozen.
