Charlie Bone Pack, 8 books, RRP £47.92 (Blue Boa; Castle of Mirrors; Charlie Bone & Hidden King; Charlie Bone & The Red Knight; Charlie Bone:Shadow Of Badlock; Charlie Bone:Wilderness Wolf; Midnight For Charlie Bone; Time Twister). (Children of the Red King) Review: Wonderful series :) - These series are awesome! I read the first two books back in 2005 while living in London and I simply loved them. However, as I then moved back to my country of origin I was unable to continue reading them for they were untranslated, so I was left wondering what happened with Charlie and his friends. Now that I am able to buy via internet (I was a child back then), I couldn't resist to buy the entire collection, and I must say I am glad that I did. These books are really great to spend a pleasant evening reading them. The story is quite fun and the plot is full of twists and unexpected outcomes sometimes, and whenever you finish reading a book, it's quite difficult to resist the urge to start reading the next one in the series. These are well suited for children of 8 years and over (and also for those adults out there who enjoy reading fantasy once in a while). The covers of the books that I received did not belong to the ones in the pictures though, but I don't really mind and they were lovely anyway. Review: Charlie Bone is Packed with Action - Browsing at a used book store while my sister was visiting from Tennessee, I found the first book of Charlie Bone just above the Harry Potter books. I opened it and immediately knew it was going to be a good read. With that, I purchased the entire set on desertcart. The story is different from Harry Potter, but it reminds you of the Harry Potter books. In fact, several times I looked at the print date at the front of the books to see who had first published their books.

Charlie Bone is Packed with Action
Browsing at a used book store while my sister was visiting from Tennessee, I found the first book of Charlie Bone just above the Harry Potter books. Nice set.
Nice set. Was happy to be able to get all of these in paperback for a decent price. My kids and I used to read these out loud together when they were about 9 or 10 and we all loved them. Bought these for my niece's son who is an avid reader but a little young for Harry Potter. Great book for in between if that's your style.

Amazing
I read these books while I was in middle school and I always lived the series. Now that I'm an adult and have kids of my own I'm looking forward to them reading and enjoying them as much as I did.

This series is about a group of children who work together for the common good. The children go to a special school for students gifted in art, music, drama and/or magic. The main character, Charlie Bone is gifted in magic only - he can enter pictures and communicate with the subjects of the pictures. The children have to work to undo the evil magic perpetrated by the head of the school and his extended family, including Charlie's grandmother. I especially like that the children do what they know is right, even if it's hard, and they help each other. Charlie has compassion even for children who are rude or cruel to him.

I read these books when I was a small child and loved them. When I found out they were going out of print I knew I had to get my hands on the series. I may be in my mid twenties now but the series is just as delightful as I remember. Clearly written for small children but just as enjoyable now and it was then.

I thought this series would be Harry Potter all over again. Sure there are similarities but the series has enough to stand on it's own. I read this nightly with my 9 year old and soon found my 12 year joining us. The series is a bit darker than perhaps Harry Potter but it's still appropriate for my boys' ages.

I purchased all 8 books in this series because of the good reviews. Excellent service from the Seller. Very enjoyable story about a young boy called Charlie Bone and the strange things that happen to him and his friends. I think that young readers (9 years plus) may find these stories enjoyable to read, if they have all 8 books, as the story flows from one to the other. A bit of histroy (Charlie's family past) which comes to light as Charlie continues to defies his Grandmother. Does he have magic abilites or is he just a very talented and gifted child like his friends who are very unique to what each of them can do. Team work is required, problems to resolve, fun to be had, understanding what is around you, as there is always someone who will help if they are asked. Great story line, very interesting ending. I have enjoyed these books despite being an adult. I have read The Snow Spider Trilogy by Jenny Nimmo, another enjoyable story for young readers.
