Great Vendor/Outstanding Steel Blade
Due to delivery issues after a month of waiting, I requested a total refund from the vendor and promptly received it. Talk about great service!! But 2 days later, mailman delivered the missing sickle. So, I notified the vendor and asked them to bill my credit card with my apologies. I wanted this sickle. Here's why. It's well designed and durable. The blade is simply outstanding - perfectly sharpened to cut through vines and thick grass, no chipping, easy to clean, no rusting after several uses, and a thick blade with enough weight behind it when used as a machete.

Replaced the handle.
Bought this because someone mentioned how easy it was to replace the handle. I needed a pole sickle for pruning trees. This works great. Kind of heavy. Almost works like an ax on a long pole. Yea...just what I needed.

Cheaply made, but effective
The blade is a flat slab of treated metal with a pair of rough and aggressively angled grinds to form the edge. The tang is held to the wooden handle with bolts at the collar which has rattled loose after the wear of use, but has not come off the tool. It's quite handy in use. The weight of the blade accomplishes most of the work and the hooked end is perfect for snagging problem branches or pulling sharply to lop off a wayward bud/stem.

Unique Machete
Looks awesome, very unique looking machete. It's pretty heavy for a machete, obviously supposed to be used for cutting thicker brush like sugar cane. Great value for the price, not full tang but the blade is screwed into the handle with 3 screws, looks like it'd hold up well. Also came well oiled and with a point protector, the seller should ship it in better packaging though, it came in a plastic shipping bag, I could see potential for damage. Very cool looking machete though, I highly recommend it.

Unless you can customize it, don't buy it.
Not worth the price unless you are going to rehandle it. The balance point is halfway up the blade. The minute rivets are set into a tiny tang, causing immediate wiggle between the blade and handle. No attention was payed to the handle grain orientation. The logo wore off from touching it for five minutes. I gave three stars for the blade alone. I'll rehandle it with a longer handle after grinding the bottom portion of the blade into a tang. Hopefully, that will change the balance point to the top of the handle to make this tool functional. Out of the box, it is sharp with a stout heavy blade, but doesn't feel like it would do an hour's work before failing. Not an off the shelf functional tool

Pretty wicked blade
I've never used this kind of tool before but now I'm a big fan. Easy to wield and doesn't tire your arm out quickly. It came very sharp and I nearly cut my own leg because it sliced through the brush so easily. Not a negative by any means. I do wish it was full tang but for the money with real wood for the handle and a wicked sharp blade I think it's worth it. Not perfect but a great value as far as I am concerned.
