I have a couple of these stands and I’ve replaced them all with these or the rollers. I really think that if you buy this stand for full price it should come with these. Fortunately I haven’t had to buy one for 200 dollars. I wait and buy the saw when they offer the stand free. Otherwise it’s hard to justify spending another 60-80 dollars on top of the 200 to have a properly functioning miter stand. You can’t beat Dewalts 12” slide saw. I have 3-4 of them still working great and have bought and tried all the top brands. Yes Festool and a couple others are better but you pay for it. The Dewalt 12 slide saw, with the XPS shadow cut line is affordable and easy to use for the novice as well as precise and built to last for the journeyman. 25 years of running a construction company your guys will go thru tools that’s just part of it. You learn quickly which brands to buy or you waste a lot of time and money.

The idea for the wider support is definately a good one and is really needed if you cut wide stock. The ones that come with the mitre stands are narrow and don't provide much support for wider material. The width is nice but unless you locate your saw way back on the stand (not centered or forward) you loose a couple of inches or more because the mitre fence will be to far forward. For smaller saws it might be OK to locate it further back but if you have a 12" saw you are probably going to want it centered as much as possible to support the weight for the saw especially if it is a slider. With this said there is no front to back adjustment on this like there is on the smaller one so some of the width is lost and unusable. It's also not easilly adjusted height wise because the front and the back of the brackets are adjusted independantly of each other. Overall, great idea but a little lacking on the implementation. Still, better for wide stock than the ones that come with the mitre stands.

This is the only way to go for the job site. The only thing that takes these over the top is the DEWALT Miter Saw Stand Extension Support (DW7028). Awesome setup. Well worth the $$$$$. Oh, I've been a licensed contractor for 40 years. Not my first rodeo.

Easy to work

I purchased the DW7027 Wide Roller Material Support and the DEWALT DW7029 Wide Miter Saw Stand Material Support and Stop to be used with the DEWALT DWX723 Heavy Duty Miter Saw Stand with the DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Because this saw can cut up to a 16" wide board I felt wider more stable supports were in order. I could not be happier with any component of this package. This package is the way to go, professional contractor or weekend warrior. The saw is awesome and a huge upgrade to my 10" non-sliding miter saw (name intentionally omitted). I would highly recommend every piece of this package. If you are going to use boards wider than 2x4 or 2x6 than the wide roller and wide material stop are a must.

The package came really quickly. I had an old stand that had ceased parts so I decided to buy 2 of these wide parts to replace my old ones. I bought a new stand and took one of the new narrow parts from the new stand and put it on my old stand. I now have 2 stands each with a narrow and wide material part. Very happy with the product.

Works great, just make sure your stands are the right ones for it. Otherwise you'll have to modify mounting option.
