Yes, the only conversion needed is a temperature conversion. The manual that is included with the moisture meter comes with the conversion chart. If the wood is within 10 degrees of 70 degrees Fahrenheit no conversion necessary. I have used it multiple times when purchasing firewood. Great tool for that.

Q: How to read plywood moisture level? its not listed and im trying to match my birch hardwood moisture level (currently 6%) to my subfloor's level.

For plywood we recommend using setting 3. For subfloors such as OSB we recommend using setting 2.

Q: Does this work on drywall?

The mini-Ligno E/D is a moisture meter that is calibrated for wood. The mini-Ligno S/D moisture meter has a specific calibration for drywall which will give you an accurate reading of MC%. However the mini-Ligno E/D can be used when taking comparative readings. It will read high or low moisture content. Can be easily used to determine a leak or moisture damage. Check an area with the same material which is known to be dry or undamaged and compare that reading to the area in question.

Q: What is best pinless moisture meter for measuring moisture of Bow wood? Bow wood should be between 8%-11% moisture so need something fairly accurate.

I have the Lignomat Moisture Meter Mini-Ligno E/D which covers that range. According to the manual the the resolution is 0.1% below 10%, 1% from 10% up.
